Declined Remove MLP subforum

I suggest that we remove the MLP subforum.

It was created largely due to the influx of pony related media that flooded General and other parts of Skial. When MLP was at it's peak popularity it did a great job of keeping that material separate from the main threads. Now, it's inactive and barely anyone posts anything there anymore.

Most of the users who liked the children's show have left or are less active and the people left, overall, HATE My Little Pony. So it doesn't have a use anymore and no one wants it anymore. I prepose we remove it and/or change it to something else. Like "movies", "music" or "media".


Edit: Also this is a really good idea.

i dont though my sprays are of my homo heavy/medic pairings because that's more important to me than ponies. like i said idc that much and i bet a lot of people are the same, but when others are in hate with ponies, i feel like i am obligated to post ponies to represent
i just dunno why everyone is so in hate with ponies like if they weren't always against it i think it wouldn't be so fun for people to try to be unique and mention ponies 24/7 in sprays and stuff, like if this topic hadn't popped up, no one would be posting ponies everywhere and have gotten mad at each other

idk are you guys just interested in being in hate with each other or something because idk if that is the point of tf2

Since it's so difficult for you to read, I'll state it here. It was agreed that a media forum would replace the MLP forum inorder to bring more activity to the area. It was agreed MLP should not be given special treatment because they were popular for a few months as well as people had a dislike to MLP. It should be removed since no one but two people like it here and the space could be use for more productive things. More people hate MLP on Skial than like it. WHY would you keep a subsection that no one likes?

And since you're going to derail more, you forgot to include this in your cute little definition of bigotry.

I don't see how me saying you were headed towards bigotry is derailing, you are the one who continues to have this argument - even if you don't believe my definition is correct, my meaning should be plain and to bring it right out in the open I will specify here what I meant by it. You have a blatant RIDICULOUS hatred for the show that is illogical to me. Hell, I think The Walking Dead sucks and I have to see everyone who adores it posting about it on facebook and forums, you don't see me starting a crusade to get it thrown out. You may of been joking but you suggested "banning"

The subsection that everyone "hates" is still more active by almost 400 posts than another subsection that everyone apparently doesn't hate. and I +1'd the entertainment subforum so long as it was moderated as you see in the thread, but if that was the case there really wasn't a need to make a post like this until that subforum was made.

Because nobody fucking spreads The Walking Dead into every little crevice they can. You dont see people putting walking dead characters into Skyrim, do you?

If they have no where to throw it they wont be posting it. They only post it because it is there.

I don't even know what to give this suggestion. If you wanted to take out MLP for being an inactive forum, you might as well take out all the gaming Subforums as well.

MLP may have been just a fad, and I'm pretty sure that none of the bronies here have even posted on the sub-section continously, but the same can be said for most of the other sub-forums. If you want to get rid of one, then get rid of them all. Of course, something may reinvoke interest in those sections, like a new update for the gaming forums or a MLP movie (God-forbid).

+/- 1 for this suggestion. Better to have an inactive sub-forum than have people complaining anout a removal in General.

It isn't, because those above topics aren't polarizing things, people do not get angry when people post a warlock card or whatever the hell magic the gathering cards are. People get enraged when they see Rainbow Dash.

I'm fine with a subforum, I even +1'd the idea, I just said this post should of been held off on until said subforum was made.
 
I'll agree that it does get annoying and childish when ponies are everywhere, and yes I realize my avatar's Rainbow Dash. Imo it's appropriate to post ponies if it's related to the topic, but posting ponies just to annoy and piss others off is stupid.. If people were actually smart and mature on the internet, I think it'd be cool having an entertainment sub-forum for everything instead of individual ones that are rarely used

IMO removing it would cause more harm than good. If you remove the MLP board then you're going to see MLP threads in general. Then people will complain. Then drama will start, and it will escalate. Then there will be more trolling and whining than there already is.

Besides, a lot of people here are just "I HATE BRONIES, +1 GET RID OF IT. TAKE THAT, BRONIES!" rather than having actual serious reasons that aren't fueled by single minded hate.

On top of that, if you want a new section so badly can't you just make a new section while keeping the MLP one or is it confined to only 3 sub sections maximum?

Either way I don't have any care for the sub forum. There's so many trolls and more than enough bronies feeding them that it makes me die on the inside every time I go their.

Just my two cents.
