Some guy complained about people wall hacking when in fact they were not. The guy he said was is a great player and I know damn well he wasn't "wall hacking". I please ask you to bring 3rd person back. Plenty of me and my friends play in only 3rd person and it's throwing off our game. Please.. bring back 3rd person... we don't want to leave skial servers, but we will.

Still not sure why the admin isn't giving warnings to any of the other people who did this stuff?​
I also haven't seen any logical reason that 3rd person shouldn't be added back in, other than, "I don't want you to have it just because."​

I legit had this open like an hour ago, it had 3 pages, now it had 7. Also I would like to say after totally not reading this thread that TECHNICALLY third person is only supposed to be enabled with sv_cheats 1 which doesn't allow you to get achievements and such. We're kind of working around that with SourceMod. It can POSSIBLY be a donator/ap perk, but that's about it.

This is coming from a regular, so I'm assuming I won't get as flamed as the other guys did.

So here we are, the lack of thirdperson is kinda lame. Although I almost never use it, it's a decent way to keep regs on servers. TF2 as a whole is technically an FPS, however some variety wouldn't hurt, right? I mean we've got custom maps, Saxton Hale, etc.

This is just a minor complaint, but if there's people who swear by it, then let them swear by it, since obviously they'd be coming back to Skial's servers, as Skial is like, from what I've gathered, one of the very few servers that actually have this feature enabled.

This feature that I believe any server should never have, would be Comp, since it'd be technically breaking the rules, especially when you're a spy against a pyro.

I don't understand why people are against thirdperson. I mean, it's a pub, right? Since when is it ever taken seriously? Well considering the other guy's post, it does, and if seriousness is the key here, should we take the regs on the servers seriously? Not necessarily on the forums, but on the ACTUAL SERVERS.

I -1 to all servers

I +1 for custom servers/trade only, because they're neat to play with in 3rd person, but not in "serious" (yeah haha public) servers.

Well, from what I've seen, some people are serious about pubs, so taking this feature away would be a major turn off if Skial took it away from all of the servers.

From your viewpoint, however, you just want things to go your way and look down upon newcomers. Ass.

It doesn't enable sv_cheats anymore because Valve enabled code to allow plugins to activate it without sv_cheats, so I put it on all the servers. But apparently you can still move your camera inside a wall to see through it.

I removed it from our stock servers because when people are getting banned for wallhacking, you know it is being abused too much.

OK, thanks for explaining this. I was wondering why it wouldn't work direct through console, but I guess it's allowed through plugins. I agree though that it was abused too much.

My friend who I met months ago on skial, mercintosh was recently banned from skial for requesting !3 to be re-nabled, but unfortunately the thread escalated.

People joined the thread to say they disagreed and shot him down even though they were not necessarily in positions of power to control the feature. There were other people who were interested i keeping the feature. He got angered and started retaliating which turned into a circle jerk pretty quickly. needless to say the thread derailed.

So an admin joins, finally some justice and to my surprise the admin starts harping on merc, and everyone who was for the feature. NOT a single time was it explained by the admin why its removed, just opinions by other users.

Merc has 560+ hours on tf2 so he isnt a "newfag" like some people where calling him even tho merc got "warning points" for namecalling and whatever. IF this is the way skial is going to conduct their bans without propper revisions, then it ruins the experience for anyone who actually has a serious a problem but becomes to worried he/she might get banned for voicing their opinion.

I have enjoyed my time on skial and also enjoyed merc's friendship so i would like to have this looked at again.

I think you should look again. He used a racial slur on top of flaming, so yeah. he deserves his ban.

As for how everything was handled, I agree. It could have been better.
