Bake at 425 for 50mins
toss some cheese on for the last few minutes of baking

My rendition of Shula's Crispy Fanned Potatoes, except with less bacon and more garlic and cheese.

It may look ugly, but it was absolutely delicious.

Potatoes are pretty simple though, so I doubt there's really more to it.

Potatoes are one of those ingredients that can appear to be pretty simple but in reality takes a lot of technique to cook properly. Try making Joel Robuchon's mashed potatoes for example. It's quite the process but completely worth it.

Woman, 105, says bacon is the secret to a long, happy life
Pearl Cantrell, a 105-year-old resident of Richland Springs, Texas, filled local TV station KRBC in on the secret to a long, happy life: bacon. "I love bacon. I could eat it for every meal, and I do!" she said, and encouraged others to do the same. Somehow, Oscar Mayer got a whiff of Cantrell's evangelical fervor for fried pork and sent over some chipper young employees to give Cantrell a ride — "shotbun," the local station said — in its Wienermobile. The generous employees also gave Cantrell a large supply of bacon. "I will never, ever forget this, for the rest of my life," Cantrell later said, tucking into a plate of bacon. We truly believe her.

My mother in law is home alone for the week so I made her a sun dried tomato, basil cream sauce with white wine and toasted pine nuts over whole wheat pasta and sliced grilled chicken breast. My kids demolished it, so I think she will like it.

That looks freakin' delicious. I love red pasta sauces with cream in them.

I went to Japan last week for my Spring Break. The best part was that there was cheap sushi at every convenience store, but all of the other food was excellent.
I love Asian food. It's my personal favorite cultural cuisine. I could eat Asian for the rest of my life and be perfectly content with it.

Teach me D:

Had this for lunch, a dish my grandmother usually makes

It's skate fish with quinoa, the fish was (of course) cooked in butter, the smell gave me such huge flashbacks of staying at my grandmother's place in France during some summers
Shit was good, but it's definitely a once-in-a-month dish.
