Just a basic Nikon D3000. Got it for cheap. Couldn't pass it up. I need to get a flash and some more lenses for it.

Might get a new body first. HD video would be nice.

Is the the D3000 series the one that replaced the D40? how much did it cost you?

Because I'm a hustler, I got the D3000, 18-55mm lens (lol), case, 8GB class 10 SDHC card, and 2 year warranty for... $360?

Yeah, couldn't pass it up.

dang. but yeah, you should invest in some better lenses. What kind of photography do you do primarily besides fireworks?

Burnt-out fireworks. Burnt-out women. The things you would expect me to take pictures of.

Have you considered an 85mm fixed lens?

it depends on how you use it. A 18-200 mm lens probably would be more practical than having a fixed lens. You'd get a lower f-stop with the fixed lens though. Which is better for shooting at night / in dark settings.
