Mordy

Uncharitable Spy
I see this all the time, where people are holding a conversation with someone on the other team, only to have it interrupted because either one of them are dead and the other person is alive. People will often say something immediately after they die, only to have who it was directed at not be able to see it.

People not aware of this will get angry at you and accuse you of ignoring them, when simply, you just didn't see the message because it was blocked. It does more harm than good.

EDIT: This concerns all the Badwater servers.

I looked through the cvars and I couldn't find anything called 'grave_chat' which is what i thought it was,

then i looked around in allied mods and well http://forums.alliedmods.net/search.php?searchid=9833999
it looks like we'd need a plugin?
seems like we'd want something like this? http://forums.alliedmods.net/showthread.php?t=171734
Yeah from the look of it, it needs a plugin, I think the related cvar is tf_teamtalk, whether that can just be toggled on and off, or 0,1,2, I dont know.

Found another one:

http://forums.alliedmods.net/showthread.php?t=74130

This one is specifically for dead players.

EDIT: Oh tits, looks like that one is obsolete now that the AllChat one rolled around.

+1 , but applying this on custom servers might turn out bad. By example: saxton hale: dead people always try to tell hale where the survivors are, which sucks if your alive.

Well.. Running away and go hiding isn't fun and then people start that slay-vote on hale, who is trying to find the cowards, but people don't think. They just act. Everything has his pro's and it's con's on every single server.

Hale has the capability to cap the point, so if people are hiding on some ridiculous place...And if people trow in votes for that i'll be happy to mute them.
Anyway, i don't see how it's fair to have this on saxton hale... it kinda contradicts the hole game mode

If you guys read the OP it concerns normal game mode not VSH.

Also I've seen this on other servers. Seeing *DEAD* enemy text while alive and alltalk is off.

I just people have to be smarter and realize when you are dead and wanna say something to the opponents: wait till you are alive, it isn't a long wait..

if you don't get it it's like this.

say you're playing search & destroy on cod, once you die the alive people cannot hear you but the dead people can

there and yes +1
Why reference COD when you can reference Garry mod Trouble at the Terrorist Town
