Obviously sprays are sprays and I could turn them off, but I like seeing other sprays too. But really, I don't like seeing the gore sprays, they're just shocking. It's just really horrible at how cruel players or people can be.

(In this photo I literally had to move my sentry and dispenser away from the spray to a different location just because of it)

I've voted no, it's the same as porn sprays... I don't want to look at either of them, but if porn is allowed then so should gore.

Edit: Did the same thing as @Sargent¥ - looking at the image closer up has changed my opinion, this is beyond any porn spray, supporting +1

I know we've always been pretty lenient on sprays, especially with hentai and porn in general. Rule of thumb is, if it's not illegal, we don't ban it, but I feel like this kind of gore should be an exception.
People use porn sprays for the hell of it, or to distract enemies, but this kind of spray is just bad trolling, and if it expands it could give us a bad rep.
So yeah, if we were to vote on it, I'd probably go with banning those, even if we don't ban porn/nazi symbols and other stupid shit

Gore sprays have never been against the rules, but I have always felt they should be. They certainly offend more people than would a swastika flag or a "nigga please" spray, which we do ban for. The usual reasoning I've heard is that many countries have strict hatespeech laws, such as France where the EU servers are.

Why not only imply those rules on those EU Servers only?

If we start having different rules for different server locations, it's sure to be abused by players who "thought they were on a different server" or other kind of blatant lies

Yeah I've seen a lot of people get offended about someone on the server I frequent being allowed to spray a picture of an aborted fetus, and I would have to agree with them. It's low class and compared to some of the other stuff we punish for, actually more offensive

This is actually a wonderful suggestion.
If there's one thing that will make even the thickest of skins falter; it's gore.

Initially I had voted no and my explanation was going to be "TF2 is an m-rated game, this kinda stuff is a norm" but then I scrolled and looked at the picture (on phone). To an extent, I still stand by what I said and that there's a line where you should just deal with it but things like this goes WAY beyond that line.

Well I mean, yes it's an M-rating game. Gore in videogames does not compare in real life, considering real life is rather more gruesome, disgusting and well, real.

I don't see any down sides to banning it. The people who spray it are just trying to troll the server and it usually works because its some nasty shit

Echoing @Meowcenary the only people who put up gore sprays are people looking for trouble in the first place. In-game gore is one thing. Real life gore makes a chill go down my spine.

And to the discussion above, TF2 may be rated M, but real life gore I think is AO (Adults Only) territory.
