the demoman stickybomb trap & the sparta trap also allow access to the hale area. while they're usually unable to kill hale, the activation of his traps lets anyone who has survived outside of the pit to get a freerun.

a real update would be removing the pit or making it instantly lethal but no we're stuck with ppl diving into the pit en masse to kill hale or enter his area and trigger buttons leaving very few to no players actually playing the map followed by pit retards yelling "HALE PLS COME PIT" "HALE PLS OPEN DOOR"x999 for over 27 minutes and then committing !votemenu abuse if Hale doesn't bow to their incessant mouth drooling retard demands or if Hale does the logical thing and kill them. Its not a deathrun map if almost no players actually do any deathrunning. Its just absolutely useless pit stupidity. and we're stuck with it cuz its popular and if it gets removed you can bet Bottiger will have ravenous -5 year olds pouring onto the forums to complain till the Heat Death of the Universe.
I bet removing the pit in dr_office will definitely cause the map to die.

Anyway, as much as I surely was frustrated in that screenshot, I feel uncertain about having it removed. I do not like the map, it's claustrophobic, traps suck, it isn't very replayable, and the pit severely derails and delays rounds. I feel like it's a classic for all its faults and will admit that the gimmick of going into hales side isnt always lost on me, sometimes I enjoy fuckin about on Hale's side. I don't agree with removing it. At least, not yet, I'd need maps like trumptower/baz/gayrun/ancient gone before I'd be okay with removing office.

The current iteration of dr_office places much of its focus on the pit, which makes it not very interesting as an actual deathrun map. If stalling is against the rules in seemingly every situation except for the pit in this map, and dr_waterrun offers a pit for players to get trapped in while also being an instant lose if there aren't any other players alive, why should dr_office keep its own pit?
