I just wanted to post a quick thread on the topic I'm discussing "The hell is the big deal with being a friendly?" I did recently just get banned a couple minutes ago and I was like "The hell happened?", if an admin could reply and give me a quick explanation would be great.

The usual saying is that being friendly hurts your team because you are not helping your team with the objective, even on the 24/7 CTF servers. Also, you're taking up a slot on the server that possibly someone else (who actually wants to play the game) can't use due to you being friendly.

Stop asking "why u ban fwendly? UwU" and stop being friendly. Go play another fucking game ffs.

@Snitch Bitch This actually makes alot of sense, when I get unbanned I can go friendly in some other server, Ill try to remember "If you wanna be friendly do it on another fucking server."

Its like clockwork! Get banned for being a rule-breaking trash friendly? Rush to the internet forums for bitching disguised as a question.

How hard is it to understand that normal skial servers are meant for players who want to play the objective. If you don't want to play the objective, you get removed.

If you went to a McDonalds and decided you didn't want to eat McDonalds food and instead loitered at a table, you would be asked to leave as you're using a table that a customer could be using.

People want to play the game, friendlies aren't playing the game and are frankly wasting slots

if you want to be friendly, use Valve's matchmaking or find a server that's running Tournament Mode. whenever Tournament Mode is between matches, everyone goes friendly

I don't think anyone's going to be that sad a skial server has all its slots taken up.

In servers like FF2 and VSH where there are limited slots for certain classes and those slots are taken up by useless friendlies, I have no shame in getting them banned for not bothering to read the rules or play the objective. If you want to be a friendly Hoovy throwing sandwiches or some obnoxious Bug-gineer spamming the Kazotsky Kick, go play on a casual 2Fort server or join a community silly server.

You're telling me FF2 and VSH servers aren't a silly community server?
take some copium
I would if I was ever kicked for not having MOTDs enabled.

I'm not saying they can't be silly. A lot of the bosses and stuff you can do as certain classes can, in fact, be silly. But the FF2 and VSH servers also have a core objective, which is kill the boss. If you're not contributing to killing the boss, you deserve to be booted out for wasting a slot.

By silly servers, I'm moreso referring to things like LazyPurple's silly server where there is absolutely no objective and you can just goof off on some random map.

If active objective=true; friendlying=false
If inactive objective=true; friendlying=true

If you want to friendly on servers with active objectives, then fine friendly all you please but do be aware of the servers you friendly on and their rules as it can get you kicked or banned. If you do, it is nobody's fault but your own for refusing to acknowledge the server rules. You also need to acknowledge that you are actively griefing your team by actively refusing to participate in assisting them. Even if you are just "a hoovy gibing sandviches" you are not assisting in any fashion. You have 0 right to complain about the server rules, you have 0 right to complain about any teammates dissing you, you have 0 right to complain about the enemy team killing you if you're friendlying.

TL;DR: Friendly in objective-based servers if you want, but it cannot and will not make you immune to consequences.

Never said I would complain about the enemy team killing me, though I can't say I agree about the part about server rules. How else will they ever change if no one complains about it?

Find a trade server, im sure even skial has a couple of those, you can dance, stand around and throw sandwiches, you know like boring friendlies do.
