Declined Get rid of instant respawn

It has come to my attention that many of skial's servers have switched to instant respawn. I despise instant respawn because it ruins the game by encouraging suiciders and making it very hard on attacking forces to attack a place right next to a enemy respawn point. I dont actually think instant respawn helps servers fill up, and all it serves to do is piss off people like me who recognize instant respawn as a game ruining element. I propose that we get rid of instant respawn on most servers, or at least on 2fort NY where the server filled up pretty regularly anyway. in order to reach a compromise with people who like faster respawn, we could reduce respawn down to 10- 15 seconds instead of 20.

Because this is not the first server I have played on that had instant respawn and I already know how dumb it is already. I would hate for skial to fall into this crowd because one of the reasons I liked skial in the first place is because it didnt have it.

How can you make this argument until there is proof one way or the other? Why not let the experiment happen?

Don't make a thread to get it removed if it just got implemented today. Wait about a week and then see what other people say. If the majority likes it and the servers continue to fill up, then it isn't going to get removed. If a lot of people complain about it, then it'll get removed. Most likely for certain servers, rather than all of them. It's too early to tell.

Using this information I am making the hypothesis that it wont help servers fill up because the people dont like it. And if you realized how terrible instant respawn is for actually playing the game, you would try to get it removed as fast as possible too.

I'd say at the moment you're fighting a losing battle. There are issues with servers staying full, he's trying something new. If it ends up being a detriment I'm certain he's going to stop doing it immediately. Let the issue resolve itself if you're so certain it's terrible.

But some people want to play it to just have fun. Again, it's still too early to tell. Just because a certain number of people that are on the same server as you don't like it doesn't mean the majority of Skial players won't.

You dont need to repeat what KillerZebra told me, this thread is simply here so that Bottiger knows that people exist who dont like it and explains what I personally find wrong with it.

edit: also that 2fort NY doesnt need it because it already filled up regularly anyway.

There are people who just want to play TDM and ignore objectives. That's probably why Insta-spawn is even a thing.

No, I just am making a point and you're proving it. I'm also not attacking you, I'm just saying people who negatively vote everyone who dislikes an idea they have, end up being not taken seriously. I have people who do nothing but vote me, it really doesn't matter to me.

But, that said if I see someone trying to make a point and anytime someone attempts to disagree with them, they rate their post badly, I tend to think they're childish, and as I said above, it devalues their entire point.

I don't need to counter your argument all that much anyway, since there are plenty of full servers with instant respawn, there is a market for it. I don't enjoy Ketchup but I fully understand why stores stock it.

Because TDM in Tf2 isn't a game mode by default. That's when insta-spawn comes in.
