With the frequent Heavy and Spycrab bans I feel it should be clearly stated in the rules as an example. I also feel that there should be an in server warning or a kick with a warning before a ban is given.
It's not vague at all, if Skial were to list every single violation that a general term uses, you'd have a moderator creating posts of over 20,000 words (And many of the people here, hopefully, have LIVES that need their time instead of making a book). There are many definitions and interpretations of it, but what you do, falls under the term of GriefingRefusing to help advance your teams position just seems a bit vague. If you changed or added in Spy Crabbing and Friendly heavies you would keep a lot of idiots like me away. I think it would benefit everyone.
Griefing is the act of using or abusing a game mechanic in ways originally unintended by the game's developers for the specific purpose of frustrating, angering, or otherwise negatively impacting the game experience of another player.
I was wondering if you are with just 6 people on the server and everyone is griefing instead of playing, is that allowed then? BUT if someone joins who wants to play and ask them to sop and they do stop.
I was just wondering because I just had that conversation with my brother. C:
There has always been a war between people who want to play normally and people who friendly. Both of them can't co-exist.
Right now it seems like the people who actually want to play outnumber the people who don't mind friendlies, so we don't allow friendlies on regular servers.
If you want to be friendly I would recommend a trade or idle server.
Lemme stop you there, the 'smart' thing, was to make a post asking for a change in the rules...when you yourself are no angel and have broken two other rules, including this one, for harming your teammates? Then you go and participate in this? http://steamcommunity.com/groups/FREETHEHEAVIESIt just seemed like a smart thing to add as I see it happening frequently. Sorry to have bothered you.
If this happens, I leave a note somewhere to remind head admins what happened between this and this *If your community requires you to do so* and either BAIL, or let them keep going until the server resumes normal game-play. Why? Take last year's Scream Fortress. Everyone wanted to be FRIENDLY to 'Fix' The Soldier's problem of an angry Wizard. If they continued to play normally, Merasmus would kick our asses.I was wondering if you are with just 6 people on the server and everyone is griefing instead of playing, is that allowed then? BUT if someone joins who wants to play and ask them to sop and they do stop.

That is a terrible idea, having someone say in 'clear' words. I simply ask them to...I agree Ruelel's idea of a warning is "pls dont do that" which just looks like a random douche on the server telling others what to do. An admin warning should be pretty clear that it's coming from an admin. I usually kick players with a warning so they can't say they didn't see it. He has access to commands like /csay yet "warns" people in this fashion and then bans them when they don't listen.
However, "friendly" playing is not allowed and it's never going to be. If you want to mess around like that go to trade or idle.
^I've been saying that since the bloody beginning!-snip-
It's a terrible idea to identify yourself as an admin and give a warning or alert that a player is violating server rules? That is a terrible idea, having someone say in 'clear' words. I simply ask them to...
"Guy walking around with the sandvich not doing shit, knock if off"
"<random name> Are you here to play, or here to Trade and Idle?"
"Stop with the minishits/useless game-play"
They don't need a Intellectual Sentence. It's a game.....and wise-asses with perfect Grammar speaking all the time, opens the Admin to attacks and abuse from the player they're trying to administrate, and can turn an entire group of team, or even the server against the admin....can anyone say Anarchy? It is NOT fun removing over half the server due to stupidity. It's Team Fortress 2 for crying out loud!
Doesn't Skial use Admin Tag/Identifiers? If not, it's your own bloody fault. It's a terrible idea to identify yourself as an admin and give a warning or alert that a player is violating server rules?
k.
I can play on any random server and some random idiot will try telling me what to do or how to play. Am I supposed to assume they are all admins and that the way I'm playing is against the server rules?
No.
Doesn't Skial use Admin Tag/Identifiers? If not, it's your own bloody fault.
You can claim you're the President of 'murica for all I care, but without proper identification, it's all smoke and what not. Plus, Skial Regulars know who the admins are...if they don't, they should be asking questions. He didn't ask a thing.
Nope, the OP, is.Everyone on the server is a Skial regular?
-snip-
Not everyone will think like you, or me. However, there's only...29 of you that I last checked and given how massive Skial is, I'm taking it that all Admin's words and actions are worth and merit the same. They won't all operate the same way, but for some reason it works...stop beating the dead horse!-snip-
All I'm saying is "pls stop" is a shit warning. Anyone can say "pls dont do that" and they often do. Should everyone ask "hey are you an admin and am I breaking a rule?" when some random jackhole tells them what to do? No...-snip-
It's on their own accord if they choose not to ask. Their own fault, and problem to solve. The appeal's already over as I found more 'dirt' on the user...why are we discussing this again?-snip-
It's equally effortless to type /csay "Stop playing friendly heavy" or /kick "Wrath" "Play or ban - your choice" and would result in less bans and less of these appeals/angry players.-snip-
Well we're just gonna keep making the same points so

Still. I can live with my ban. I just wanted to bring to attention a possible addition to the rules.
WE JUST WANTED TO GIVE PEOPLE LAUGHTER AND JOY WE NEVER WANTED IT TO COME THIS THIS ;-;
Doesn't Skial use Admin Tag/Identifiers?
So that should excuse the OP for breaking the rules...?In my opinion it is a good idea to not have them so easily identified mainly because some people are good little boys when they know an admin is on, then when the admin leaves, they go back to calling everyone a faggot and doing the shit they were doing.
Or you can just play the game like you're supposed to (I.E. kill tiny babies and push little kart) and there won't be any confusion, aye?
Even if the admin wasn't easily identifiable, looking at the server logs, EVERYONE that wasn't playing 'friendly' pleaded with OP and the others to stop.
Stupid Reason? Stupid Reason?! They're actually playing, there's a difference between participating and being useless. (Sure, I agree with the gunslingers are useless for defending or attacking if not placed properly, but that's besides the point) The cries here, were for something else.Stupid reason. Players ask demoknights, gunslinger engineers, Dr. Enforcicle spies, etc. to stop all the time. There is no reason for any of them to think they are breaking rules or should listen to naggy tryhards.
Anyway requesting lock. The suggestion was declined and there is a pointless debate going on now.
