It was still viable while pushing the cart to protect you, and your team. I don't feel that it needed a faster firing rate, nor did it need to cost less metal.

As for dealing with short circuit spammers away from their sentry guns? That's why Valve made the Shotgun. Also melee weapons.

Mini-Sentries are extremely easy to take out. I go Huntsman Sniper all the time and it's no problem. As for engineers with the short circuit, I just keep shooting arrows until I can get close enough and hit them with a Bushwaka. Really isn't that hard but I suppose that's just me.
