I found that using the start menu and search bar can get really fucking glitchy sometimes, to the point where it doesn't work. Also I had to reinstall a lot of applications because they couldn't be found or just didn't open up, including my anti virus. But I like the new looks, it's simplistic and clean, and I can forgive its flaws since it has only been out for one day.

The start menu never gives me any trouble.

Strange. Well maybe the case is that my computer just sucks. It is pretty old and I can use a new one. Definitely ditching premade computers and going into making my own, when I get enough money of course.

Making your own is always the better option. *Assuming you know how to put it all together, which isn't hard.* And the funner option! yeeeeeee

I think that error code means access denied. I don't remember the fix for it, it involved something kind of complicated.

Try rebooting and running windows update as an administrator

16-bit applications will not run.

To all of you who have downloaded Windows 10 and are happy about it - welcome to the realm of Microsoft Store...

Or do you really think that Microsoft has just given you free update to MX for nothing? :)

It is because Microsoft has been losing profits so they needed a way to keep people using them. It also attracts more customers to come use their products. Simple marketing.

What better way to give people a free copy for Windows 10 and mainly focus on just patching that system. Plus it will be used on Tablets and Windows Phones. They probably intend to have 70% minimum use that OS.
There obviously is a higher strategy behind it, however I never used Windows Store before and I dont intend to. I disabled Cortana and Onedrive. I am not interested in their stupid improvisations that I dont care for. They disabled standard apps when upgrading forcing me to use their stuff. I switched back to VLC Player, etc. All I cared for was getting back a start menu. I like the OS, but I can live without alot of its stupid features. Why would I save personal data in their Cloud... I understand youngsters probably like all those fancy Hipster stuff and singing Cortana, but to me its just a big risk sharing more data with that company.

I disabled … Onedrive. Why would I save personal data in their Cloud
at least for all intents and purposes, OneDrive is already essentially disabled, since it's unused by default. the default save location for anything is on your PC.

at least One Drive doesn't store your porn bookmarks and passwords online either (I'm looking at you, Google Chrome)

if you ask me, cloud storage wasn't designed with sensitive personal data in mind.

At least there is someone who understands the big picture. Kudos, homie.

PS. I'm still waiting for @Deadfront to thank me publicly :)
