Not to panic or anything but wouldn't this update hurt skial quite a bit?
I don't know exactly how much of our traffic is directly quickplay, but I honestly don't see Valve servers being ticked by default lasting very long, as almost every server network is based at least somewhat on quickplay connections. The lack of Valve EU servers and the majority of their servers being repurposed to MvM/L4D2 is also a part of that. This is going to hurt everyone though, that's for sure.

Yes and no. From what I understand people who are currently using this option are constantly being directed to empty servers. I think this will have less catastrophic impact than one might think. It will hurt though there's no denying, I just don't think you'll see saigns and the like die by it.

I don't know the statistics but I know we fill up our serves based on quickplay and steam announcements.

I think this is going to hurt. It is already hard enough maintaining these servers. Valve is punishing legitimate servers like Skial for no good reason. I am not exactly sure why they are blocking quickplay from everyone.

Bottiger might know something behind the scenes.

I'm not at my computer so I can't check recently. But if valve feels threatened that communities servers are getting popular than that's just stupid. They shouldn't of removed most of their servers that forced other people to find non valve servers to begin with.

If they don't like certain communities like killstreak, they should blacklist them from quickplay. Problem is people can easily change their information and valve is too lazy to keep an eye on it.
