Imo, I think simply following the current, public tier list like its the fighting game bible is a waste since tier lists as a whole are constantly changing with the metagame. A competitive player would be better off studying the trends in shifts with the tier list and the metagame to try and predict and use a new strategy/character rather than use a strategy/character that's already anticipated/being countered by opponents.
 
That looks awesome. Is it going to be like Brawl with a campaign and all or is it just a bunch of battles and such?

Not confirmed.
It could have a story, but it won't have awesome cut scenes. They said at the work for the cut scenes went into the reveal trailers. I still think some kind of follow up story to sse is possible, they left too much untold.
 
I wouldn't be too devastated if there was no story mode for the new smash. Aside from the actual boss fights and story, SSE wasn't that fun for me.
 
No story mode confirmed. There was going to be one but to many dipshits leaked cutscenes and the developer said he wanted that to be a surprise but it is no longer possible.
