Unmoderated has become a terrible place. It was fun while it lasted, but it has just become too much.

There's nothing but trolling, pointless posts, people fighting amongst one another and grotesque shock images. So, it essentially has become 4chan- a breeding place for trolls that infect other places in the forums. At first it was funny, but it's gotten to the point where its gone overboard and overflowed other places. At this point, it's cancerous. All of Skial needs some sort of moderation to keep unfavorable professional trolls out, ie. Mario.

I'm not saying to get rid of NSFW, since I do think that there needs to be some place where images that aren't safe for work can be posted. But I do think that unmoderated should be shut down to reduce the amount of unfavorable users that are appearing because of it, as well as reduce the internal fighting among the regulars.

Edit: I should make it clear, I have no issue what goes on in umoderated; it's a place where drama can happen, trolling is fine, etc. My issue is that it's now becoming a problem in other places in Skial. The drama, trolling, etc. isn't being kept in umoderated and I know a lot of users who are becoming more vocal regarding their issues with it.

i said i don't care about what goes on in unmod. I wouldn't be posting "unmod shouldnt be deleted" if i wanted it deleted. If you had read anything, i said unmod is necessary to have to keep the majority of the trolling in one spot instead of all over the forums.
Why is it necessary to have all the trolling in one spot? Why not just start issuing bans again?
That way, all the trolling is kept OUT of the forums and not locked away behind a fragile glass showcase.

How about an option to hide unmod or certain sub-sections?
Other than that her argument is pretty solid.
It already doesn't display on what's new by default and is a subforum off NSFW. It's not something you stumble upon.

Because it will happen anyways and it makes more pointless work for us.

To follow up the sewer analogy, shit is overflowing. With people citing shit in unmod or taking shit in unmod seriously, it is getting out of control. Why not make it so you cant make topics in there but just send topics gone awry. We already have NSFW, so whats the point. An argument doesnt have to go out of control if everyones mature enough.
I actually like this idea. Make it into a forum landfill. Instead of locking threads for drama, throw it into the dump and let it continue to rot.

people need a place to go and say whatever they want about whoever/whatever they want without fear of being "warned" or banned by ban happy mods, removing this would be a terrible idea, its like putting someone in rehab with drugs dangling in front of their face 24/7

Well the counter-argument is that why should we be the place where people do all that? You're analogy doesn't make any sense.

Then people will complain just as much as we lock threads and even if we're right, it's annoying.

Overall, I see people less upset when posts are moved to unmoderated than if they're locked. At least in unmoderated, people can still argue about whatever they wanted to without ratings or mods.

I just want that hell hole contained and kept there.

I would rather lock and clean up a mostly good conversation instead of sending it to a dungeon.

Oh for sure. I was merely saying that I like the idea. It's not necessarily a good idea. But I like it.

I also like amphetamine.

I think part of the problem is that use of the report button has gone down. People seem to thinks that they can just troll back instead of reporting things.

I'm no fan of unmod by any stretch of the imagination. However, it's there. If anything spills out we take care of it.

Just please report any offending posts if we haven't hit them already.

not to be a jerk or anything, but a lot of the arguments I've seen in Unmoderated were spearheaded by Catswithtophats and Dave. I guess I could go back and look for evidence, but I doubt I really need to.

guess you guys used that cheap hooker up, got bored and decided it was time to move on, huh

I'd use the report button more often if it resulted in actual consequences more often.

I'm a drama whore, but +1ing this because I've seen some stuff outside of unmod leaking into moderated stuff. Unmoderated is just a place for people to break rules without getting into trouble and it's leaking into the forums. Spoke to Bottiger about this and unfortunately he says that it's unmoderated, so it's for anything (within the guidelines of what's legal).

I can't speak for other mods, but whenever I address a reported post, I typically delete/edit the post if warranted, or PM a warning to the reported user if it's a valid report.

But I'd say that most of the reports that get sent up are people being butthurt in trade threads and not liking somebody else's offer. It's rare that I ever see a valid report anymore.

Isil. Thanks for proving my point that unmod can't stay in unmod, tbh.

Depends on the situation. Reports help, man.

All I know is that I've used the report button when someone said "faggot" or posted some horrible porn picture and nothing was done about it. I know a
lot of people think that it's easier to troll someone than to press the report button. I know Roman made it clear he hated getting reports and said something
to the effect that he ignores them.
