KillerZebra

This is a fairly new plugin, but so far it has decent feedback. I think its something we can test on Bottigers Test Server to see if there are any bugs or crashed.

It pretty much lets you choose who you wanna spec.

/spec killerzebra

So you don't have to scroll through. From what i have read, this would be for admins only i think. Unless bottiger configured it for everyone

You can also keep speccing the player after they die.

/spec_ex killerzebra

This forces you to spec killerzebra every time they respawn.

sm_spec <target> to start spectating a player. That's it, nothing fancy. All players are allowed to use it. (Optional)
sm_spec_ex <target> to spectate a player every time they spawn.

Tested in TF2 but should work in any game. In TF2, if you "can't" spectate your target because of the state you're in (either alive, or dead but on the other team), you're moved to Spectator so that you can. In other games it will just assume that you can spectate them, and try to set your spec-sights on your target.

Changelog

1.1 May 12, 2012
  • Added admin menu support
  • Added sm_spec_ex command. Targeting others using this command will automatically set your spec onto them every time they respawn. "sm_spec_ex 0" to stop spectating
  • Added cvar "sm_spec_players", defaults to 1. Set to 0 to prevent non-admins from using Quick Spectate

Seems good to have and can help admins in the long run

+1 one of the main reasons I don't record demos of hackers is because im too lazy to keep clicking through the names when they die.

would be a good tool for admin or even just anyone speccing.. q3 mod i played had a /follow command, which I used a lot as admin, so yeah +1.

Prus wun, but maybe make a forum announcement news post so people know this is possible?

I haven't read anything since the OP, but +1. This would make demos much easier to deal with.
