Hey guys, the first thing I thought of when I heard about the sandvich nerf was, "Man, I hope skial puts in a plugin to undo that.". I'm cautious in this opinion because I know I benefit from a good sandvich more than most players, but from what I've been hearing people generally dislike the change. Well guess what - a plugin exists to revert it.

The plugin is here. I'd like to get your input on this before I start badgering Bottiger to implement it. Should we get the old sandvich back?

that is your opinion and i'm sure others agree with you. but as i said, if enough people say yes, it has its chance to be implemented

I never said it didn't have a chance to be implemented. I was under the impression that this was an opinion thread? I was merely offering my opinion as to why I think it is a bad idea to change things. As for the respawn timers I again think that is 100% unrelated to weapon and class balancing, that is more a "quality of life" change. It also doesn't upset balance since every single person in the server gains this benefit, not just a singular class.

I like how the sandvich was fine for all these years, then the game becomes F2P and they start changing everything because a small segment is complaining.

Sandvich was fine up until the introduction of the Tomislav, and GRU imo. I personally have no issue with it's balancing if used in conjunction with the minigun.

Even then the heavy isn't impossible to kill, not everyone is a heavy master.

Don't worry Anta, you can voice your opinion. Respawn timers were a red-blu balancing question on dustbowl, actually, and didn't necessarily benefit the whole server. I'm just pointing out that Skial does put modifications against valve's wishes when enough players want it, which is also what GhostDragon was saying (if I understood).

Personally I use the sandvich with minigun and GRU, but I rarely use the sandvich to make up for the GRU health drop. I usually find a med pack near the end so i save the sandvich for the medic. I don't really get the interaction between the Tomislav and the sandvich... do you mean the tomislav provides a good alternative for the shotgun?

One doesn't have to be impossible to kill to imbalance a game. But, I've said my two cents - and that's prolly all its worth, my opinion let sleeping dogs lie. If there is enough of an outcry of the tf2 community the sandvich will be put back to the way it was. If there isn't then it'll stay this way and people will adapt, similar to the way that people said pyro getting reserve shooter would ruin the game. I'd agree wholeheartedly if you couldn't heal others. But unless theres a Tomi or GRU nerf that actually gets implemented, my opinion will remain against this plugin.

Edit:
Sorry twine, didn't see your post till after I entered, wanted to answer this one as well. I felt the combination of the three was imbalanced. Tomislav replaces the need for the shotgun due to no spinup time. Sandvich hence is a nobrainer for that. and GRU as I said above the Sandvich removes the downside (One might argue its a positive however when you are getting medicd.)

As I did say, I don't think its imbalanced with the minigun, I just think the ridiculous mobility that GRU and Tomislav give, plus an on demand 150 health is a little ridiculous to deal with.

I will agree with your decision, but once again I am still disappoint.

I voted no.

Why? Because the class with the most HP in the game doesn't really need to be able to duck around a corner, and take the 1.5 seconds necessary to restore its health by 150 to subsequently rock everything that it ducked away from.

I'm going to make a plugin that gives every class in the game a Sandvich to restore balance. EXPECT MY THREAD SOON.

You have no idea how much I want a sandvich as soldier.

you could always play randomizer(do we have any?)

As the Desu God of Heavies, I would prefer Valve just realize the stupidity of mega-nerfing one of the most used items in the heavys inventory, especially considering how long people have had to get used to using it.
