Hey guys, the first thing I thought of when I heard about the sandvich nerf was, "Man, I hope skial puts in a plugin to undo that.". I'm cautious in this opinion because I know I benefit from a good sandvich more than most players, but from what I've been hearing people generally dislike the change. Well guess what - a plugin exists to revert it.

The plugin is here. I'd like to get your input on this before I start badgering Bottiger to implement it. Should we get the old sandvich back?
 
If they can add all these lazer weapons in the game then it should be our right to have the sandvich reverted and save ourselves form the impending crash-pocalypse
 
I had no idea they changed it.
Now that I know, I WANT MAH SANDVICH BACK.

100% against this. Shouldn't alter the game unless its to disable weapons that break servers.
 
Alterations by valve, not server admins. Sandvich was nerfed for a reason, and a damn good one at that - I for one hope that Bottinger decides against implementing this.
 
as far as i know. bottiger will not implement this. He does not change things done by valve just because people don't like it.

this goes with nerfs, over powered weapons, and so on.

he might tho who knows. i really don't see a problem with the nerf though
 
I sad no because if valve thinks this is for the better. why change it? My opinion, lets learn to deal with it and it may make some of us better heavies for doing so.

I'm fine with the general idea of keeping servers more vanilla, and not implementing the change for that reason. The story I heard tonight was that there was a loud prominent group in the TF2 community that complained about sandviches and got them nerfed. If an overwhelming majority disapproves of the change, it would be good to protest and attract players by reverting the change. Of course, I don't know whether that's the opinion of the community, and hence this thread.

I don't agree with "Sandvich was nerfed for a reason, and a damn good one at that", but that's a matter of opinion, I suppose. As a person who doesn't play heavy, you don't really know how the mechanic changed with the nerf.

Heavy loving Sasha, Natascha, Sandvich, and Medic was never secret. No big surprise.
 
Those who are against the nerf and those who are for it could argue for an eternity. Fact remains Valve felt it was a necessary nerf, and its implemented, so we should leave it as so.

I also don't necessarily feel as if the sandvich is so massively overpowered, however the big combo is quite imbalanced. The biggest issue with the Sandvich for me was that it completely replaced the shotgun due to the no spinup time of the Tomislav, and if you lacked a medic could easily make up the detriment that the GRU gave.

sometimes the player has the say. remmber all the items you could only use on new moons and halloween then we implemented so you could always wear them? If people want the sandvich back or not is their desicion

I Disagree that cosmetic items are an applicable argument to game balancing.

We also had altered respawn times when players wanted it that way.
Edit: And we run a nocrit nospread server.
