Making this thread in hopes to remove the autoscramble feature on 24/7 Turbine Server as it kills the server immediatly.
Most of the regulars that play on that server can say that the population issue is because of the autoscramble after you cap feature,
if that was to be removed so that the gameplay is constant fun like in every 24/7 2fort map would make a drastic change to the server health.
Obviously the issue arises when theres a team constantly stomping/spawn camping the other. We can fix the votescramble feature and with skials
ratios it will more than likely pass. This post is made in hopes that we can have 24/7 Turbine populated at all times so many players can enjoy it at all hours of the day.

You also can't swap if the teams are too imbalanced and you are respawned instead of sitting outside the enemy spawn.

1st part literally isn't true.

And playing thousands of hours of turbine ≠ understanding the nuances and dynamics of the recent server environment.

I can't believe I'm agreeing with nightwolf here but I think the game play would become much fairer with a cap/scramble turned back on but 3 is definitely too low. 4 or maybe even something a bit higher, like 6 and then leave the option to vote crits on cap.
It should just be 4 like it was before. When spawncamp spam crit on cap is happening it's easy to capture the intel but a higher objective limit would just be too difficult under the former server settings, which made holding the other team hostage in spawn unrealistic.

I'm honestly surprised you even want change here Raven. Considering how committed and persistent you are in your playstyle, I chalked it up to you actually enjoying it.

I think 4 is great, anything above 3 IMO. 10 would be crazy wayy too much, so that's why I was thinking maybe 6? But sure, 4 is great. :chef kiss:

I'm a simple bird and easily entertained; even though I may enjoy it, please don't mistake that for the only way I'd enjoy it.

When I join earlier on in the day, before the spawn camping and other bullshit comes on, where both sides are more or less even and both sides more or less take a turn holding middle, it's actually quite a lot of fun. If I had a preference, I'd vote for more of that and whatever changes are needed to get there.
 
At the bare min that would give the server about 5-10 mins of fair game play while the usual stackers re-stack the teams. I don't have a problem with stacking. What I have issue with is folk that wander in, have no idea what's going on, have no idea that they're up against a stacked team and then basically told to leave if they don't like it (I'd have to dig through the server chats but I'm too lazy but they're in there).

New to turbine and need help pushing past those dirty, dirty, spawn campers? I can help you with that. There’s a few weapons you can use to help your team succeed: the medigun, which you can equip by swapping to medic, is great for pushing out of spawn. Use it to build an uber in less than 50 seconds, just by clicking on your teammates. Another weapon, of many, is the minigun, which is equipped by the heavy weapons guy. This weapon on it's own is very strong up close and even stronger when you have help from a medic on your team. Don't have any medics? That's fine! Swap to medic and heal your teammates yourself! There's also a weapon called, The Short Circuit; it's very useful to help your team and you can equip this weapon by swapping to engineer. It does damage, partially obscures vision and you can use it to delete projectiles and clear a path for your team to march into victory. Don't forget! This isn't engineers only weapon! He also can place down sentry guns, which can completely stop a push if placed in the correct areas.

Now that's a lot to take in... Team Fortress 2 is a team based game. it's even in the name! Use your team to help you do things you can't do alone!

It’s also pretty easy to speak using the in-game voice chat system, and I know for a fact that you know how to use it. Did you know you can use it to talk to your teammates and coordinate pushes to break past the barriers that stop you? Of course, if you have little/no friends that would be harder to do, but luckily turbine is a perfect place to make new friends! Try it out! It's super fun!

Crit on cap vote is now removed, and /swap is disabled for 60 seconds after a scramble. Votescramble now calculates percentage based on the smaller of 2 teams instead of the entire server. I believe this should be enough to fix everything.

You cannot swap to a team if it has more than 1 player compared to the other team. So for example if red has 32 players and blue has 30, you cannot swap from blue to red. You will have to wait for autobalance to kick in which isn't instant. And even if it was instant, you get spawned all the way on the other side of the map.

You can join the team as a proxy player in mere seconds without even spawning in. This would only not work if there was an inbalance of more than 2, which rarely happens given said autobalance.

It's not goal post moving when I'm putting the goal post on the field. Like many other people on the forums, Bottiger hasn't connected to a vanilla Skial TF2 server since late 2024.
 
Yeah man. I was a fat unemployed chud for years and played on Skial servers literally all day and all night. I have more experience and awareness than almost anyone to speak on this matter.

Do you remember bigbodi on dustbowl always swapping to spawn camp red? Not to sidetrack the conversation to a different server.
