I don't post it in unmod. I used to a long time ago but it's been exclusively in NSFW since

I would prefer to see nsfw removed. Only a sick fuck would want to see some of the shit that goes on in there, at least in unmod it's just like kids in the sandpit, eating cat faeces, and slinging mud.
There should always be a space where people can go without fear of reprisal.
What makes me laugh is pious pricks with the notion that the likes of telling someone they are a cunt, or using a word such as 'nigger' is deeply offending, whilst pictures of gay furry sex, things being removed from the human body, and sexualised animations of girls of a highly dubious age are seen as acceptable.
In a nutshell:

Why not remove both the sick shit (nsfw) and the racist shit? It's not like only one of them has to go after all.
I agree that even though its unmod it should at least follow our rules. The part of using it to call someone out or heckle them is fine by me. We do not punish on the servers for it so as long as its used to not shit post or derail a thread then it has it useful points. I do not think it should be a haven of racism, kiddie porn etc. etc. that are against our core rules. I also understand that you cant have this both ways and is why I said get rid of it.
Scrap both, or keep both; but lets not forget that unmod and nsfw were both made for a reason.

Unmod was made because people couldn't keep their arguments between them in PM's. They resorted to flaming in random threads that the other person commented in. So Bottiger created unmod so people could post and flame in there all they want, while leaving regular topics alone. People also get that "attention" they want by posting their "I hate you" topics in unmod.
Yeah ideally we would like to have people only bash it out in pms. But it never worked that way and removing unmoderated won't change that.
In all honesty, if it bothers you guys so much, simply don't go in that section. I almost never go into NSFW or Unmod and I haven't read 99% of the stuff in there.

As a side note, trolling isn't against server rules so I don't know why it should be against forum rules.
I understand the reason why. You say they couldn't keep it in the pm's and it spilled out in the forums? Did they get warned for the violation? Was it not against the rules at that time you created unmod? I have no problem not looking at a particular thread because I might disagree with it. Just dont understand why taking the racism and borderline child porn would affect expressing your disagreement with someone.
In the past, almost every single one of us were guilty of flaming / trolling in threads, myself included. Instead of warning or banning almost everyone, Bottiger decided to make an unmoderated section.
Something big (drama wise) happened that forced Bottiger to make unmod, but I forgot what it was.
Perhaps a better solution would be to redefine unmod? (No racism, no illegal stuff, ect)
