I'm in the server now. The kid is always screaming into his mic and has a REALLY disruptive voice.

Having an annoying voice on the mic isn't a bannable offense though guys. Just use a vote mute if the whole server agrees, and if that doesn't work, Valve put client mute in the game for a reason.

if you did a votemute on him then whats the problem? if he keeps doing it make another reprot and then well ban him.

hes not on there anymore

You have a valid point but...
That still doesn't really matter. If Skial did perma-bans for little children using their mics, we'd probably have another 200-300 people on our bans list. It just isn't logical. No matter how much it pains me to say this, I agree with Zebra, if a Vote Mute doesn't pass, client mute him.

I was on a server the other night where some young kid was talking normally. He just had a high voice. He got votemuted. As soon as it passed I unmuted him. He wasn't being disruptive in any way, shape, or form.

Now is the kid in question here actually disruptive or just guilty of having a higher voice than the basement-dwelling neckbeards that are crying in a deeper tone for their moms to bring them Hot Pockets?

Oh, I completely agree with you and Zebra. It's just the fact that I have to client mute him every time I log into the server. He's always on it and whenever he is, he's always screaming and whatnot.

If his voice was deeper, would you still classify it as micspam?

He is disruptive. When you hear him literally yell into those types of mics that can only handle a certain decibel level, it just comes out as GKKKKKSSSHSHSH GUYSSSSSSSSSSS COME CAMP WITH ME NAOOOOOOOOOO!!! Every time I hear his voice, I want to strangle myself.

OK, then that would be micspam.

If I'm not marked away on Steam send me an invite next time he does it. I'll come on, mute him, and tell him in my best death metal growl to shut up.

I'd have to admit, that would begin to get annoying, but no real reason to perma-ban someone. If he really is that disruptive, he can be brought on the forums and have a discussion on whether or not his actions are justified.

Yes, I would classify it as micspam. I have no problem with kids being on the mic. I have a problem when they are yelling with their mic basically touching their face.
That goes for anyone.
