Scarcely Lethal Noob
Do any of the TF2 servers have class limits? I don't think the doublecross US23 server does, but an engie cap of 3, and sniper cap of 4 per team would be awesome. :P

"If someone tries to kill them at long range, any heavy that knows how to dodge can easily neglect that damage."
Aim. Get some.
There's only one kind of ranged damage source that can one-hit KO an overhealed heavy and that's a fully-charged sniper. Heavy has a small head A soldier, who's lucky enough to get one crit-rocket, can 2-shot him. The rockets are quite slow though, so any heavy can jump to the side to neglect the damage if he sees the soldier. Sticky launcher at long range requires some long charge-ups, and you need at least 4 stickies to take a heavy out. So yeah, sticky launcher at long range doesn't really work either unless you're facing a heavy that's standing still.

Also, I did give you a valid counter-point to this argument:
Heavy's high dps at close range is easily removed by going long range.
And my response was:
If someone tries to kill them at long range, any heavy that knows how to dodge can easily neglect that damage

Draw the parallels yourself.

"True, but I think any semi-smart heavy is protective about the medic. If he sees a soldier rocket jumping at him, he'll shoot at the soldier. If he sees the stickies, he'll shoot at the stickies. And all this only requires one button. Well, any semi-smart heavy will of course use the walk-button as well, so make that two."
Here's what I said about the stickies: "Then there's the sticky traps. Use them well and the heavy-medic combo is gone." Use them WELL. Not like a total jackass.
Again, you need 4 stickies to take an overhealed heavy out. There's also a sound when stickies stick to the ground. Observant heavy destroys one sticky (which doesn't make a sound) and the demo doesn't one-shot the heavy. As for sticky traps, that's obviously an issue of where you put them. It's also a matter of predicting whether the heavy or medic is coming the way you've put your stickies on.
The rocket jumping strategy is something that you need skill to pull off with a good result and it's not that hard to kill the medic with it, if you have skill that is, leaving your team with a good opportunity to take out the heavy. And a soldier who's high up in the air is hard for a heavy to kill at least for a while.
Exactly. You need skill. Something the heavy doesn't require all that much. He sees a soldier in the air shooting at him, he only has to aim at him and press M1, whereas the soldier has to rocket jump, make sure he comes from a flanking angle (and to get to this angle he might need to bypass enemy defenses) and get his rockets right so that he doesn't have to reload too many rockets for him to take out the heavy.

Well you are just a dumbass. If I have to dumb everything down that much I see no point in even talking to people like you.
Or it's because you can't argue against him because his points are actually quite valid, in comparison to your name-calling and "NO U" arguments.

People will also leave if the defense has 8 engineers
That's not a problem, it's only difficult to beat because most servers have all-talk on. : )
But seriously, 5 people can easily take down 8 engis camping dustbowl stage 2 last, if they were half decent and actually tried to communicate.

(and engis don't use pomsons!) : D

What I like about the whole argument between pr1mus, Ozone, and tomatoketchup, is that they focus too heavily on 1v1 situations.

Please Ozone call me a retard
That's just a bunch of retarded fail right there. I've played soldier for about 182 hours and I have taken down my fair share of heavy medic combos with what I have said. The only thing you seem to forget is skill. With skill every possible problem you've come up with goes away. The thing about the sticky launcher is bullshit. Charging ain't required and sure, 4 stickies to take him out may seem much to you but in fact I've taken down two heavy medic combos at the same time several times with my stickylauncher so I think I know what works. You're nothing but an inexperienced kid whose brain limtations are so huge it's unbelieveable.

Y U SO SURLY. STOPPIT
But moooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooom...

i think we both know that if my post and argument was full of inaccuracies, you would be glad to point them all out: but seeing that isn't case, you just spam more dumb ratings and slap me in the face with another irrelevant personal insult. which explains all the other dumb ratings you've given with little to no reason.

The reason for the dumb ratings is this: Your posts are fucking dumb. Now read that until you understand it. I know how hard those things are for you but just try it. And I don't like pointing out obvious things that somehow must have just gone over your dumbass head. From now on just to help bott in cutting down on the drama you're gonna get yourself a picture or vid that says that you're a dumbass everytime you say something dumb.(May not necessarily say dumb. Offer may include idiot, retard and/or other words that implies that you're a dumbfuck.)

I never said you didn't. Read again.

Not for short range. I was arguing about long range. Read again.

What does that have to with too many stickies? Now it just feels like you have to cover up that you can't argue through showing how "pro" you are by mentioning something any experienced demoman can do. Which isn't what the argument is about. Let me refer you to the first page:
Of course, any skilled player can take heavy+medic combos out. Unfortunately, this isn't a lobby game where skilled players are everywhere. We're talking about pub games where not everyone is as super-ultra-pro as you apparently are.
You're nothing but an inexperienced kid whose brain limtations are so huge it's unbelieveable.
Yet you're the one who keeps missing my point. My point is: The heavy is badly designed. In pub games he can mow down everyone because players in pubs aren't experienced nor skilled. In lobbies he gets mowed down easily because he's easily countered by anyone who knows how to play.

Too bad you've got a self-confidence that is so low you have to make yourself look tough by calling everyone retarded on the internet. Whatever issues you've got in real life, I wish you good luck with them.

ALRIGHT. So this is yet another thread getting out of hand. I don't think we're going to impose class limits on vanilla servers. Take your hurt butts to comp servers please.

Let this, once again be a public reminder.

Enough of trolling people in threads. if you must, do it in the moderated section. If you refuse to listen to an admins warning, you will be banned.
