You can literally go into your Steam settings and enable the filtering of slurs so you don't have to see them.

Why are we continuing to police the chat like the game is for children? If you choose not to use this filter which Valve added five years ago then you have no right to complain.

I'd rather let a ZE player answer what @muffinman80 suggested but from what I know people had already started using "alternative words" on ZE and were still getting muted for it by a certain admin.

My honest answer is that I don't want to accept silly compromises, I just want you to stop treating us like we're children.

Alright, let's suppose that I answer this. What, exactly, do you want me to suggest to you? I've already said that we want to be able to say these words. You're saying you don't want us to. How can that be resolved? It's a no-win scenario and therefore pointless to argue any further.

There is also the fact that you are basically the new admin on the block and you're already trying to get involved in issues that go far beyond the scope of the server you come from. I don't think you're bad but you are absolutely out of touch.

A word alone cannot be racist in and of itself, although it can be stooped in it and inherently imply such things due to historical and cultural reasons.

I cannot deny that it seems you really just want to be able to say these words while you know it upsets people. Does it really detract from your fun in the first person shooter game that you can't use a particular word? It seems to be of an unusually high priority to you and your friends that you be able to say these particular things. Are you being censored in other ways?

I struggle to understand how its so constricting that you cannot say "nigga" to address others. Perhaps consider expanding your vocabulary. A white person saying "nigga" in a casual, non demeaning manner among friends is not an issue imo. However, you aren't just among friends, and you could just be considerate of others. Who is to blame, the ones acting unnecessarily sensitive to the provocations of a troll, or the troll themself?

I will admit, I think the community could grow a bit of spine too and not be so fucking panicked over words like its a memetic hazard that will poison their brain. In the end though, troll or genuine racist, the party saying it probably deserves the punishment dealt just out of principle of them being annoying and spewing unnecessary retardation. Clearly the person saying it incessantly can't wrap their head around these simple ideas of being decent towards others.

Not only does your example portray the idea of listening to an expert/authority as a straw man, it then claims that it’s logically coherent to argue a straw man because you claim your opponent used one first. Do you even read the text in your image, or do you just blindly post it when you don’t want to make a real defense of your argument?

Also, regarding a prior reply to me claiming that I don’t know what racism or a racist stereotype is, answer me this: is using nigga, negro, nigger, or similar in a greeting to a black person considered racism by your standards? The only arguments you’ve used defending casual use of this slur involve the assumption that it’s just you and your white friends, so are you claiming that it’s equally applicable if the people being greeted include someone for whom “nigga” or a variant would be highly offensive?

The gesture "stop overpolicing" emphasizes that someone on this map is being reported for a swastika sign.

Would the report be approved? Most likely, if this context were to be missing from the report. And if the player was not made aware of being reported to defend themself. It would be approached from a universal standpoint by all admins. (How would admins be able to respond to a defense if the user stated that this map has swatiskas too? Remove the map, even if the replay value is strong? Only Bottiger has access to adding or removing maps.)

This is just one isolated case. Each one is unique and has separate servers. It asks if the universal order should remain as the standard if each culture is different. Skial has the integrity to uphold these suggestions and maintain transparency for all, which makes it so great. I would like to see changes if cultures continue to differentiate from each other.

So you’re saying racism and hate speech are fine in the case of historical recreation/roleplaying, but not otherwise? How exactly does this work realistically? Are admin supposed to ignore the rules if someone joins dr_Berlin just to use Nazi imagery and binds?

If yes, then this argument is the shittiest defense I’ve seen either of you use yet. It’s blatant favoritism, rule-breaking, and Valve-TOS-breaking claim on this thread. The imagery you mention is bannable if reported to Valve, but somehow pulling it out on one map makes it fine. Why even bother if having it one map later in your inventory will get you banned by the admin?

You're being quite presumptuous there. If you actually played deathrun then you'd know there are some actual black players on there who don't give a shit and wish that they could say it too. All I'm seeing is white SJWs getting offended by it and thinking it's more important to virtue signal to a bunch of reddit users who never play on the servers instead of appealing to the people who actually play.

Its always been favoritism. Cream Tea and his goons have cleverly crafted this as "this game mode is dying, lets give its players special privaledges to keep it going" that other servers with the same rules and rule-breakers have.

Never forget, Cream Tea is a former failed skial admin that mocks and taunts other skial admins. He was PERMANENTLY BANNED FROM SKIAL BEFORE.

To be fair, I shouldn't have been permanently banned in the first place. What I did was on the forums only and therefore should have resulted in a forum ban only. It's Toxik and his goons that demanded I be permanently banned from everywhere and Bottiger got tired of having to come up with excuses for why I was permanently banned from the servers when I basically did nothing wrong on them.

Oh, and you still didn’t answer my question regarding how anyone sees “Hey my niggers, what’s up?” as casual and joking when a good 90% of the people banned for racism here got banned for saying very similar stuff.

I genuinely hope you get banned, because you don’t deserve to have any job here. You just want to ruin Skial, and you do a damn good job of it. I wish you’d actually try saying half the stuff you yap about on here in public, it’s obvious Europe thinks nothing of hate speech anymore.
