Servers:
Bottiger's 24/7 Idle
Time:
Weekdays: 5-9pm GMT, Weekends: Pretty much all day.
Link to your Stats Page:
Playing Time:
Idle Server: 200:30:35 (01:50:04 AFK) Overall: ~220 hours
Will you get mad if you lose admin?:
No of course not, if a decision has been made higher up in the chain of command then it shouldn't be my place to question such a decision regardless of whether I deem it to be right or wrong.
How do you ban yourself using your own SteamID?:
sm_ban "#[U:1:84314845]" 30 "obvious aimbot"
Any other reason you should be admin:
I frequently tell players who break the rules not to do so and I often explain the rules of the server in question to them but ultimately I am left powerless to do nothing but report or votemute them (depending on the rule broken) and on top of that the votemute rarely goes through so I feel like the position of Admin would allow me to deal with these rulebreakers a lot easier, on top of that when the /report command is used I rarely see much being done about it and since a lot of the players who do break the rules come once or twice and don't come back again it means that pursuing a further forum report with evidence against the player seems pointless and rather than protecting the server from the rulebreaker ends up wasting time as it is unlikely they will return anyways.

Negativity aside I have been administrator/co-owner/developer for many (and I mean many) Garry's Mod servers across the years, if you take an interest in which ones you may ask me and I shall tell you and also used to run my own Garry's Mod community called RenegadeGaming, set with a forum and teamspeak server so I'd say I know what is necessary to administrate and run an online community. And although Garry's Mod administration is not quite the same as Team Fortress 2 administration I think it would be in line to say that the fundamentals are shared across the games.

On top of that I am familiar with the majority of SourceMod commands and am also familiar with the rules.

I believe I am an understanding individual and I work well in a team. On top of this I am frequently described by my friends as someone who is very independent and can solve problems presented to him rarely needing the help of others. I have also gotten to know and gotten friendly with many players on Bottiger's Idle Server and know the playerbase very well there and would say I'm fairly liked.

So all in all I think I should be admin due to my vast experience in gaming communities over the years and my ability to administrate and deal with rulebreakers.

Thank you for reading my application and I hope you found it to be a good one.

The experience in other games makes me think +1, but the lack of hours and only one server listed makes me think -1

So for the moment, at least, +0.

You are pretty close on the hours, I see you here and there but not often, and you have only have the idle server listed. Your experience seems good so +0

You aren't very active in the community.

-1
Thanks for the feedback but if it's not a problem with you would you mind perhaps elaborating on how I could be more active in the community, since I am almost always on the idle server and am always on the discord when there is more than one person online, granted I have not made too many posts on the forums so if that is what you mean then fair enough. :)

Playing on a wider range of servers and being active on the forums, especially with reports, tends to help.

-1, though not a massive one.

Personally I prefer people to have hours on the other servers, not just idle.
99.99% of the issues you would be looking at as an admin wouldn't be on there.

@Xerox since no one else asked and just dived into the - 1 pool, I'll ask. Should you get accepted, would you be willing to hop to other servers should they need your assistance?

Yeah I was just about to reply to Luke saying that should I get accepted my hours will be more spread out across all servers and less concentrated on the idle server in order to deal with what appears to be a larger majority of rulebreaking.

You should start doing this now, so we can actually see that you're preparing.
Wouldn't be right to support someone for admin on the back of "if I get admin I will start doing X and Y".

Okay thank you. See, you guys should ask this stuff first. We don't get good applicants often and if reasons as little as "oh, he has the idle server listed so he's gonna be useless, - 1" are preventing this guy from even being considered then that's just ridiculous. Heck, my application only had one server listed, he shouldn't be treated any bit differently. +1 man, sorry for the rough start.

Alright, I will take this on board and begin to play on other servers as well, thank you both for your feedback. It is much appreciated.

No problem - in addition, making reports is a good way to show you understand our practices.
Just gather an understanding of the community as a whole and the role of an admin.

I'm willing to go from 0 to +1 if he starts playing on the other servers more. That's why I didn't -1 was cause he was really close on hours anyways and has some good experience. I just want to see that he does play more then just one thing before i do. Other than that he is good.

Like I said I do plan on playing on the other servers once I get home, thanks again for the feedback.
