So recently after watching a few demos my settings got all messed up. I've been trying to set everything back o normal but so far nothing has worked. Changing FOV isn't working and neither is messing around in the console with FOV commands.

Thats why i stopped watching demos. There is a bug where your tf2 settings will change to the settings of the person who recorded the demo. Watching the demo forces your settings to match the demo. Its annoying

Usually when I watch a demo it only takes me like 10 seconds to change everything back. This time was way different, but Biggie helped me out with getting it mostly back to normal. Typically the only time I want to watch a demo is when there's an aimbot report.

Half the time when I watch a demo my fov changes, viewmodel changes, sensitivity changes, cross hair changes, etc. It got to the point where putting everything back just became a bigger pain.

That makes me wonder if I keep a demo I made myself, it will change everything back to normal? I'm going to try that now.

Happened to me too, it applied the users settings and I have received invisible weapons and messed up fovs. Since then I saved my config for case of being overwritten! You could then replace it.

It's a bug that occurs really rarely, so the likelihood of it resetting you back is small. Yet best of luck with the attempt!

Change your config.cfg file to read-only, never worry about it again. Settings get fucked? Just reload config.cfg in your console. :D

EDIT: Rue beat me, because everyone else does this, too. :dolan:

could change your fov settings in autoexec too maybe, that would make it so your fov is fixed on restart, then just exec autoexec.cfg in your console

edit- cvar should be something like viewmodel_fov 64
