The jb regs have learned my name, so when ever I join/give a warning everyone goes "Hey Sboles! Guys the admin is here!". And then they don't do anything. So if I ever want to do anything, I have to change my name before joining.

I had slayed 2 people who were in the armory for over a minute, and then everyone does !admins. I then had to leave, change my name, and reconnect.

That's actually a good thing. You don't need to be constantly punishing people once they realize they'll get in trouble for breaking the rules.

The problem is, Ill be on the server for an hour, nothing happens. I leave, there is a freekill report.

This is just part of being an admin/moderator and you're going to have to deal with it.

Consider this, you are telling someone not to do something and they type "/admin" in chat and your name doesn't pop-up. Now they tell you to fuck off because they think you are impersonating an admin...

And our role as admins/moderators is not to join servers just so we can punish people. If you join and they know a mod is there and they behave properly, you have done your job just by showing up.

Seems like a controversial matter.

If you remove it, people who are looking for admins won't be able to tell if any are on.
On the other hand repeat rule breakers could use it (and from what I've seen, they do) to check for any online admins before breaking rules.

In my personal opinion I think the /admins command causes more harm than it does good

As long as they stop their fuckery thats really whats important. You have to get creative when you start punitive measures.

And then as soon as the admin leaves, they go back to whatever they were doing.
I'm not giving +1 or -1, but maybe it wouldn't be a bad idea on jailbreak.

I think it'd be a good idea to get rid of it completely. On other servers, people use /admins to check if there's any admins on before they start breaking rules.

then someone reports then they are banned, our report system is efficient enough.

I dont know if that would make a difference or not. I spent time on JB yesterday and even after I banned and silenced several people and a few of them !admins they still broke the rules.

I don't like the !admin command mainly because when an admin comes on, someone who was breaking rules uses that command and stops once they see an admin on. Then an admin leaves and they use !admins and they start breaking rules again. Frankly, it's just annoying.

I dunno if one of the other mods did, but I like to sit in spectate and catch people in the act instead of just playing, which often accomplishes nothing
