Truly Feared Pyro
Lately my work schedule has changed, so i play a little bit earlier then i used to. I noticed that when there are not allot of regulars on the server (Dustbowl) there are atleast 5+ twelve year olds. Most of who either spam the mic with incoherent babble, or just play like they have down syndrome (no offense creepingdeath). I fully understand that i am playing a video game, and for the most part the people i am playing with are going to be younger. That is fine with me, but where i have the problem is when these little kids are allowed to annoy everyone. Often times i will see people leave because of the simple fact that no one wants to hear some little kid talking about what ever the fuck it is little kids talk about. I have heard from one or more person there is a age restriction on voice chat. Is this true? If so why is it not being enforced more often, and a little bit harsher. I mean lets face it, even if you mute one of these kids they probably wont even know it, and continue talking and playing. Sure, i realize there is a mute button. For the most part i will mute anyone who to me sounds like they are under the age of 16 without hesitation. I really think though if there isnt a rule in place that says someone under a certain age may not use the microphone, then there should be one.
Along with the annoyance of hearing a kid on microphone there is another problem with allowing children speak on mic. There is often atleast one person who will say things to a child that are disturbing to say the least. Am i guilty of yelling at a kid? Abosolutly. My intention though is to shut them up, or even scare them off. However i do believe there are more then a few people with the intention of getting a reaction from them. This is not only a irresponsible action, but you are exposing a child to something that they should not be exposed to (in my opinion). Are kids annoying? Hell yes. That does not give you the right to verbally abuse them though. I guess what i am getting at is, for the enjoyment of the Skial servers i believe there should be harsher rules that deal with children on the microphone. It should not be allowed at anytime, they do not contribute to gameplay. In fact more often then not, they lead to people leaving the server to play else where. That being said, i hate you all.

I yell at kids all the time. It just annoys me when I'm trying to do something or busy. I hit a baby girl, and I was ashamed of myself

get on mic, tell every body to vote yes on a votemute

start the votemute

PRAY TO GOD.

then leave because votes never pass.

i'm 16 :D ( on pluto i'm A THOUSAND YEARS :D -- if you dont get the joke whereubeen? )

The problem is that most 6-13 year olds (yes, i actually know a 6 year old who plays TF2) know you won't do anything to them other than a kick or a ban. Once their ban is over, they'll come right back to the server and continue to spout nonsensical gibberish. And seeing as how voting never turns out the way you want it to, you'll just have to either:
A. Deal with it
B. Mute each person from the main menu
C. If you're an admin, have them muted or gagged, or both
D. (look at post below)

Thank goodness I'm 18

Fix'd
Edit: One reason I wouldn't yell at kids, is well......I'm too mature to stoop to their level.

Tell them you know Gabe Newell who will ban them from TF2 forever. They're bound to believe that!

Hello,
It appears that you have been "mic-spamming" as they call it. Please be aware that anything that disrupts or prevents other players from playing Team Fortress 2 can and will result in a temporary ban from your Steam Account. Consider this your first warning, as any subsequent offense will result in your IP being logged and any type of evasion will result in a PERMANENT BAN. Have a nice day.

I do have this kid on my friends list name B.G.O Bonk, his name is "TheCuteGir" now, man that kid whines like rapidly.
