my asian friend introduced me to anime and i've loved it ever since, that my story, but im curious to hear yours

Started watching Zoids back in the day. Shit blew my mind.
Later I stopped watching anime, but picked it back up after a friend of mine pointed me to the movie REDLINE.
Been watching season after season of anime ever since.

toonami man! that segment was awesome! New anime sucks cause it is all the same now, but the older shows are awesome!

Beyblade. The classic series years back, not the new shit.

Would Avatar count as anime? Or some sort of hybrid?

EDIT: I meant to say not instead of now

"Oh holy crap Pokemans is a show too?"

Then at some point my friend forced me to watch Hellsing which was pretty good

I think I didn't watch another anime until like 2010 when people were saying great things about Panty and Stocking with Garterbelt. Dat soundtrack.

I stopped watching anime years ago, but I "got into it" when Adult Swim aired things like Cowboy Bebop and Samurai Champloo

I was staying with my grandma and found a VHS of the first 3 episodes of Zenki in the community movie collection place thing.

Wow can I type for shit or what? I meant to say Beyblade instead of Naruto (the Beyblade toys were LA BOMBA).

Toonami after school.

Started watching whatever was on there... Robotech, Sailor Moon, Gundam etc before graduating to more respected and serious anime's. Oh. And pokemon too.

Pokemon and Digimon
My brother and I were obsessed with Pokemon when it came out, and a few of my friends showed me Digimon in third grade

Started with Gundam Wing - late night sessions of conditioning myself to wake up at 3AM and sitting through infomercials just to watch 30 min episodes of mecha action XD;
