Having to redo a considerable portion of a game because of a lack of checkpoints or forgetting to save.

bad fast travel locations.

ie: skyrim thieves guild has a fast travel location "to the thieves guild" but you have to wait through 2 seperate loading screens to actually fucking get in.

on that note, LOTS OF LOADING SCREENS. someone made a good post on kotaku the other day about how some games were making an effort to get rid of loading screens back in the ps1 days. I wish they still would ]:

silent main characters are starting to get on my nerve. There is a point where it adds character, and a point where it's obvious that developers just cut their voice acting bill in half.

HA! You think that's bad? Try getting the "Saint" Achievment in the original Dead Rising, and then talk to me about Escort missions.
I was JUST thinking that. So inhuman.
I did get the 53,594 achievement there, though.

How a villain always gets to your objective before you, despite no means to outrun you, and minigames like hacking, solving, finding, fixing things.

Defending your Assassin Den during a Templar attack in AC:R.
That was a fucking terrible tower defense system.

Doing shit that takes for-fucking-ever to do. We were talking about this on Mumble yesterday, Retrieving the Sun Mask in LoZ: Majora's Mask.

this, and when your computer can typically run skyrim at playable frames but can't get above 12fps on assasin's creed 2.
Mine is the reverse. My ATI 4350 1 GB (a shit card,I know) somehow manages to run Assassin's Creed 2 properly at highest settings without AA but stumbles at Skyrim at 1024x768 (800x600 gives me 25-45 FPS though but looks like shit).
I don't get why.
