Weird Sounds and Stuff

So something wierd is going on.

Whenever i kill someone i get some strange sound effect i have never heard.

And i get a "hit detection registered" when i attack engie like sentries. Like i hit one and it says "50 damage" and a hit sound. Never had that before.

any ideas? i tried a sound reset. havent verified files yet cause im playing.

I heard the new update introduced that new hit sound. See below for update logs (which I believe references what you're talking about).

• Added combat text and hit sounds for damage done to buildings
• Added a "Last Hit" sound option to Hit Sounds
  • Triggered when one of your attacks causes the death of a player or building
  • Can be toggled in the Adv. Options menu
