Unban request: Drot

So, I just got banned like 10 minutes ago for half an hour (11 PM, Mediterranean time zone). I know that probably its not enough time to request an unban, but I just wanted to complain about the voting system. I was not hacking, and yet people voted against someone to get me kicked. Wtf? There is no way to avoid this?

It'll last for like 30 minutes, so I wouldn't worry about it.

He said he was just reporting it...if it was only one vote against you and 95% of the server felt you were hacking, I highly doubt an admin is going to intervene...if the same fellow keeps calling reports on you, then i'd report it, but if it was only the one report and it was successful I highly doubt any punishment will be handed out to the vote starter.

The option of having voteban for hacking is pointless.

1) If the person wasn't hacking, he got banned for nothing, which is actually quite annoying
2) If the person was hacking he gets away with 30 mins ban, but if there wasn't an option at all people on the server would use the report function instead and an admin could deal with the situation properly.

Voteban hacking is not a solution.

I was not arguing the benefit or lack there of, of the vote system - if I wanted to dispute, that would be for the suggestions section which this is not in. He's complaining about a voteban being made, and passed on him and I merely said I highly doubt action will happen because 95% of the server felt he was hacking, and from what he said I don't think someone kept calling votes on him ,it was just the one.

Merely was telling him to be patient and sit it out, also recommend screenshotting when votes are called on you for future reference.

Yeah, I agree with Rvsz, if there actually was a hacker, using the report button would suppose only few minutes until he got banned, and this way inoccent people wouldn't get banned.

Most people just press something when they realise they can't swap weapons in the heat of the battle, and with enough votebans started some of them will go through eventually, it doesn't mean anything.

Sit out a ban he didn't deserve? Even if it's 30 mins that's not fair.

I'm still very interested in the reason why is it in the game, which even justifies the amount of incorrect bans (= every single one of them).

How can you be sure it was undeserved? But, I'm not going to sit here and debate with you over it in an unban thread, I'd be more than happy to continue the discussion over with a suggestion in the suggestions forum....If you feel the system is unjust Bott listens if you have enough support I'm sure he will change it.

I didn't say undeserved, I said incorrect. Incorrect as in innocent people are banned and hackers aren't banned permanently.

Vote Bans are only a half an hour, bud, if you were truly not hacking, then someone on the server was butthurt, and wanted you banned, maybe someone you had a domination on or whatever. This tends to happen a lot. I don't think vote ban hacking should really be an option either, it's the reason to ban someone that a user picks 90% of the time.
