Too many useless reports

There have been too many useless reports where the user did not type a reason that made any sense or for an inappropriate reason like being mean or spawn camping.

Should it be removed? Can we make it better? Or should we just leave it as it is?
 
if possible, have a menu that pops up and lets you select from a group of pre-determined reasons after using the command?
 
I like having it. I agree tho that there have been a lot of useless reports but I don't think there's much we can do about it. Is it anything like the vote menu where you can pick reasons for reporting them? Would also be nice if say X reports in X amount of time from the same server just gets added on to the same thread too.

Edit: Also how come some of the reports don't have a reportee/information and only provide the reporter info and server name? Like this one:

I like this idea.

Type in /report > Select reason from list > Select user from list

Reasons such as:
  • Hacking
  • Chat Spam (this can be verified without going in game, therefor it should be a separate selection)
  • Mic Spam
  • any others that are necessary
Maybe add an unlisted AP requirement as well, this would prevent people from logging in for two minutes and spamming useless reports.

Not sure if it already has one, but what about a cooldown as well? Perhaps cooldown time could be configurable by the validness of their reports. For instance, someone with 10 valid reports would have a smaller cooldown time than someone with 4 invalid posts.

Griefing > Tele to spawn
> fire through teh gates before round start
>etc.
 
How about instead of posting a report to the forum it links the reporter to the Skial Admin group so that way they can directly IM an admin that is listed as online. This way we're cutting a couple steps out of the process (apparently a lot of perpetrators leave before an admin even gets to the server) and they're more likely to not make bogus complaints if they're being put in direct contact with an admin.

It's still a new thing, I'm sure given time most people will know what to report and how. +1-ing Classy's idea also, lot of reports have the name as the reason, and for the first time user it can be confusing. !report, reason menu, user menu sounds a much better option.

I believe going ban happy just a couple of days after it's implementation is counter-productive, I thought all these little upgrades were around to raise the player count, not to get rid of them...

Don't we already have something like that? And it would require an admin to accept their friends request.
 
it needs to be removed until it is improved. For a few reasons

1. Not enough man power to handle all the spam reports
2. Classy idea if possible
3. Limit reports like you do for vote menu
------- meaning, why does the same guy need to report the same guy twice or three times in udner 5 mins?
 
I think the issue is simply that most people use the report too freely. For instance a kid reported me for "hacking" because he wasn't aware the spycicle got rid of fire. I agree with the instead of it going to forums if there's a way to program it to link to the admins group so one of the admins can come in and check it out. I also agree with there being a certain amount of AP before you can report, just like I think there should be AP before people can use the votemenu command at all due to the blatant amount of spam and stupid reports.
 
Thing is, in servers where there isn't admin coverage, the vote menu will lack demo evidence which reporters need to be aware of/ or some how implented.

The only problem I see with this is that there can be so many different reasons, but hitting the main points would help.
