I thought the original Counter Strike 1.6 might be considered the best PC multiplayer shooter ever. No complications, no perks, killstreaks, and other superfluous stuff. Just skill (and knowing what to do against those fucking AWP'ers).
But as I love TF2 too, I am happy.

I can't actually think of a game better than the top 4 here, but it's hard to list those four in an order.

Giving a game developer an award for a forced mulitplayer game is like giving a chef an award for dumping fire ants on your steak dinner, while you're eating it.
