TF2 Problem

I don't know how to explain it so here is a picture

Notice the red stuff at the top of my screen.

I put TF2 on my laptop so i can play my demos on them and make videos. It has worked fine up until now.

He is what I have done

1. Verify files
2. Reinstall tf2
3. Reinstall steam
4. delete all folders and files regarding tf2 and steam, and reinstalled.

I have no idea how to fix it, and it only happens when my sniper rifle is out. (IIRC). For example, i switch to jarate and it goes away.

by a glance, it looks like it says "ERROR". have you tried deleting everything from the cloud, deleting TF2, then installing it again?

is it a festive? if so, maybe something's borked with the festive light model file that attaches to the rifle. if not, send a screenshot to Valve

It is either a botkiller or a strange sniper rifle, i cannot remember.

botkillers also use attached sub-models. the fact that it's a strange or has killstreaks active (without effects) shouldn't affect anything
the only strange Sniper Rifle I see in your inventory is a botkiller, and I don't see the botkiller head in your screenshot, so it might be the submodel

if you have experience using Hammer, you can launch steamapps\common\Team Fortress 2\bin\hammer.bat and see if making a prop_dynamic with the World Model set to models/player/items/mvm_loot/sniper/fob_h_sniperrifle.mdl (alternately, download this and open it in Hammer) and see if it shows up correctly or as a red ERROR

okay. my guess is that something went wrong with the model file within the VPKs and Steam finally caught it and redownloaded the data
