Approved TF2 Intel holding auto ban

Is it possible to make the ctf servers automatically ban people if they hold the intel past a certain time limit, and also to read the console to detect intel swap spamming and ban both people doing it?

Votes are useless in these situations as trolls tend to come on in groups and will cause a vote to fail.

On the other hand, it's really easy to find out if someone's intel swap spamming just by looking at their server stats.

I can't imagine someone holding it for five minutes at a time, and putting it lower would result in people who are having a rough time making it back to their base with the intel would get wrongly banned

How about we ban for when people do the trade off thing. Where they stand in a corner and spam L?

maybe start with kicking instead of banning, to eliminate the false ban possibility while fine-tuning things


or use a plugin to apply the negative attribute "Wearer cannot carry the intelligence briefcase" to them for a solid minute if it detects rapid dropping

This is a really good idea. If someone is just carrying the intel and not capping, having a plug-in that would start a countdown to a kick could be useful. If the same person picks it up, the same countdown continues and doesn't start over. Then again, if someone just couldn't get back, it would suck for them. It would increase teamwork, though.

That's about the number I was thinking. It's hard to imagine a scenario where it's being genuinely held for that long, especially on a map like 2fort for example.

For Intel swapping I think that can be resolved by console if it kick/temp ban players based on how many times they pick/drop intel in a small time limit, like 10 times in 5 seconds or shorter.
