Backstory: Stabby merced in a scrim against a team I'm in (Stacked, EU Plat, top 5 team) and, long story short, he was bad (he is bad).

Some time after the game our Heavy Marty thought he'd go fuck around while he was streaming.



Marty had to take the video down eventually because our team leader thought it would be bad image for Stacked. Now it's been re-uploaded again..
 
He's so over-hyped. Just because he can do well in Valve servers and make shitty videos about it mean nothing. Woo-hoo, he abuses hitboxes and game lag compensation, gg.

I've watched Stabby's live stream a few times, and he seemed to be kinda over rated. I don't think I've ever seen him off class, either. He's good, in a spy instructor sense of "good". He's not the best out there, but he did come up with a lot of the tactics that good spies employ today.

Like most competent spies, he can destroy potatoes at will.

Also, where is the vid? He should just upload it to LiveLeak, as they give far less of a fuck about "copyright" issues than YouTube.

This is all being said without being able to see the op video.

Stabby is good. Is he the best? Probably not. The 'best' spy at any given time always changes to whoever is the flavor of the month. Right now, most people would say Pulse is the best. I think Stabby is one of the most consistent. He has videos with pub footage yeah. His latest video talks about that he plays pubs to learn, and to put himself in weird positions to see if he can get out of them. A lot of his videos are comp as well.

Regardless of what you think of his ability, I still have to respect him for doing more for spy than almost any other in terms of education. By making the videos with tutorials, all the streaming that he does, as well as the mentoring sessions, I feel like he 'gives back' to the TF2 scene more than any other spy main.

Spies that want to get better need to watch him and learn from him. At the same time, they need to learn from other spies as well. Stabby isn't the end-all-be-all of spying.

Every serious TF2 player needs to see this video. And it is Stabby that actually took the time to make it.

Yeah, I can't really criticize his play in the vid without watching it, if its even warranted.
 
Stabby is a good player, it's just easy to pick on him because he is obviously the most famous spy. I think most of it comes from jealousy, I'm not really sure.

I've played with him several times on Skial servers and he's never been an asshole or anything. He just joins the game and plays a few rounds and then leaves... no big deal.
 
Everyone has their days where everyone they play with pisses them off.

I don't really keep up with any TF2 players, so I don't know who is "the best". but i defiantly don't think Stabby is bad.
 
Stabby is not a bad player at all. He's actually pretty gracious when he loses in pugs, and he doesn't gloat or brag... He can get frustrated, but who doesn't. The fact that your team mate was ghosting his stream, and constantly killing and taunting shows SO much immaturity, and it was right for the leader of your team to tell him to take it down. Its honestly pretty disrespectful, regardless of who it is.

Honestly, everybody has a bad TF2 day now and then.

I would just like to see Stabby's, if anything so that I can compare it to my "bad" days, and maybe even learn something, too.

I would too, shit I get pissed when people just taunt. But he really didn't have to call europeans smelly because 1 person pissed him off, especially where everyone could hear him. He seems pretty cool but that makes him look like a dick.
