I feel like at this point in time Lebron is bigger than Shaq. You forget this is being targeted probably at a younger crowd than the older one was. Most of these young'uns today probably think Shaq is the guy from the underwear commercials.

Lebron makes sense, it wasn't like Michael was a paragon of acting in the first one.

That said, I'll go see it simply for nostalgia reasons alone.

It is probably going to suck like almost every other sequel in existence.

I will still watch it in the chance it could be good.
 
They were talking about this during last years NBA Playoffs. It ain't new news but it would be an okay idea
 
One thing is for sure, if I'm going to watch it I'll have to push the original Space Jam out of my head to try and enjoy it.

I believe it got more serious recently as there's actually a script being written for it now, it isn't just idle chit chat.

Also looks like Lebron is now denying involvement with it, but who knows what the case is. I don't think it really matters who stars in it, it'll make them a fortune whether it's some old basketball player or someone relevant.

Yeah, he is denying it. I'm pretty sure the movie itself is going to happen though with or without him. A FUCK ton of "classic" movies have been remade lately. Judge Dredd, Robocop, Carrie just to name them off the top of my head.

For there to be a script being written, some studio must have shown some interest in it.
