as farm as im aware, privacy laws are kind of vague on this, as long as the information posted doesnt lead to people threatining him, or the owner of said personal information, I.E. the victim doesnt specifically request for it to be taken down, no laws are being violated, so long as the information was aquired through legitimate means, conversation etc. and not hacking into his files to learn it, no laws are being broken

To clarify, as far as im aware, the only things that are "illegal to post" are financial information such as credit card numbers, SSN's, bank account numbers and things of that nature, but names, emails, phone numbers ETC. are fine as long as they werent obtained through hacking, although the posting of the information itself would not be illegal, the obtainment of such information would be, its generally up to the web host or admins to remove posts and comments containing personal information as they deem needed, but is not required

I only did so because I remember that SteamRep.com also has a search query for PayPal emails. Plus, I've bought from this guy (successfully before), his email and his name was different (tried sending him money and yet his name did not pop up like it should have been if it was the same email)

Yep, and another thing to note, is that tf2 items isn't the only way to scam with paypal. Most of the tf2 scams are just kids trying it on, wouldnt say they are hardened criminals, but there are the few that make serious business out of it.

Agreed there. My scammer doesn't think I'm serious about this at all, and sadly.. I think he'll only realize this if he doesn't give the money back. I'd rather have the money than make this kid go to jail, y'know?
