Skial's Official Christianity Thread

I spent 3 days in a convent full of nuns as a part of my confirmation as a teen. Nice ladies, but I felt totally out of my element. Also my room was Four simple brick walls, no window and a lone crucifix on the wall. Freaked me out at night.

I'll open up the options for my kids and let them make their own decisions on the religion subject. I don't want to shove any beliefs down their throat. Kids look at things with simplicity and I want them to form their own thoughts and look at things without bias. I don't care what religion or beliefs they settle on as long as they are good people.

I am Catholic. Although i am not a follower i do believe in certain things. One being Baptism and limbo. I do however don't agree with all that the Catholic religion has done in the past with paying families off when "father badtouch" gets his hands on little boys. Nor do i believe in some of the limitations (Sex, marriage, alcohol) that the priesthood must abide by. Also i went to Catholic school and still have the scars on the back of my hands to show their ridiculous thoughts on pain as punishment. But, i am hopeful of the latest Pope. He seems like a pretty good feller.

Of all the things that are being said on this website, polygamy, loli, racism, that's not bad at all. When you start making fun of religion, that's when shit starts to get really sick. Yeah no fuck off.

EDIT: I see you can't come up with a proper argument so the only thing you can do is to rate my post dumb, but that's okay, I didn't expect more from you anyway.

I had to go do more important things at the time than start an argument with some loser on the internet.

The fact that you were banned and want to continue to try and derail this thread into a huge flame war is stupid, you would think that you would learn. This thread would've been a great idea if it wasn't your first intentions to start a war.

That is the last reply I make to you, someone else can feed the troll.

I consider myself extremely lucky to have been raised in a household where my parents allowed me to believe whatever the fuck I wanted to believe, and did not force religion on me, unlike my school tried to.
I'm atheist, I don't consider myself a better person for it, but I'm thankful I was given the choice hundreds of thousands of other kids were not given.

I do learn, I just don't care.

Besides, it's called the Christianity thread, if it was seriously intended I would've called it religious thread. I mean, intentionally locking out other religions? That's just sick and sad man.

Don't worry, they'll find another reasson. It's always about power and money, religion is just a way to find people to fight for you and someone to blame it on. If that doesn't exist anymore, they'll come up with something else

100% this. My parents asked me to try out that catholic school (CCD as we called it) after school and I did for about a year. Thankfully when I wanted to quit they let me quit, and I've been an atheist since. I respect those who follow whatever religion or lack of religion so long as they don't force it on others.

I must say, as an atheist I am indeed impressed by this new pope. Hopefully he continues being massively better than the last.
