Skial, your ads are breaking TF2

I use Firefox (on the beta track, actually) but I keep IE updated for that reason.

I have a few things to say.
- If you disabled html motds, it is not possible to get ads. The people that say we are bypassing it are spreading rumors because they do not like Skial. This is easily tested.
- When you join a team the webpage is changed to a blank page so there should not be any lag. I also put in an extra timer that forces the page to be blank within 10 seconds.
- We do not use the plugin that blocks people from joining a team before enabling html motds.
- As far as I know we have the same plugin and advertiser as Lotus.
- I have not experienced these problems myself so I am not able to keep trying to fix it until it works.

Semi related: Sometimes when I join a game, click continue on the ad and begin, the sound keeps playing and the only thing I can do is wait for it to finish.

This is incorrect. I wouldn't be posting on a forum saying that cl_disablehtmlmotd doesn't stop Skial adverts if it did. I like Skial. I donated to Skial for about a year. I won't donate to Skial again unless they fix this. I haven't noticed this on Lotusclan servers but maybe I haven't played them enough. Actually I've only noticed the problem on the 5-Gorge EU server here: 94.23.226.200:2045

I don't know what to tell you then. I already tested it myself multiple times when I linked it to our reserved slot plugin.
If your TF2 is still lagging from displaying a blank page without HTML then your TF2 is the problem.
If it was really such a widespread problem our servers wouldn't be full all the time.

I've never tried the !forum approach, but I'm open to anything that will fix the problem. It gets to the point where you have to play through framerate lag or reconnect to the server and lose any progress you've made. Thanks for the tip.
Bottiger, try it on the 5-Gorge EU server. After a couple of deaths you'll get an advert even with cl_disablehtmlmotd set. You can see in this thread that other people are having the same problem: http://forums.steampowered.com/forums/showthread.php?t=2906657
What really needs to happen is to not have shitty video ads. For the life of me I can't figure out why they can't just do simply display ads. I don't know the revenue off pinion, but I wonder if we could possibly get other advertisers from the traffic we get and serve non-intrusive ads.
Just a note that I too have experienced ad plays when the HTML MOTDs are disabled and my donator ran out. So it's either Pinion's plugin that does some funky business or the MOTD being janky and not blocking flash correctly.

There is no one else. Pinion is the only one with the focus for gamers targeted via html mod, and they pay half decently.
