The surfing map that Skial had was one of the first servers I went to when I started playing Team Fortress 2. Most times it was empty but it did fill up quite a lot at some times. What if it was brought back? I'm sure if it was advertised, then a lot of people would join and it'd be filled up quite a lot since it was pretty fun. I know for sure that I'd be there a lot, at least. What do you guys think?

I don't have a problem with it if it takes the place of a dead server slot (if one exists). However, I believe we don't have specialty maps like this because other communities that focus on just Surf or Jump usually have way more people and do it better. So, trying to pull people away from there is kind of futile.

True. Although, I'm sure there are regulars of Skial who would like a Skial Surf server other than me (at least, I hope so).

We had one but it hardly ever filled. Got replaced with Doublecross | NY, which I believe got replaced with something else.

I wouldn't say it was hardly ever filled. It was a lot of fun. I was thinking it could have like a trial run or something. If in a certain amount of time it gets popular, then it'll stay. If not, then the server dies there.

Actually the biggest community that runs those servers just died, so now would be the time if ever. Still don't think it would fill though.

Who knows? Why not give it a shot and see what happens? I'm pretty sure it'll be popular. That's what I think.

+1 if we can find a dead server to replace it with. Surf was also one of my first maps.

The issue is, giving it a shot means bott spending more time that he doesn't have replacing plugins, and maps. And then finding out that its not going to fill again. He spent multiple times doing this with the comp server, and spent more time with it on tf2ware server that failed drastically.

Also, by saying "it will fill", you mean to say it should have the same general consistency of players as like, mountainlab tx, or turbine. Which is pretty much never going to happen. I doubt you'd get that many players playing on that server.

While I did enjoy playing on the surf maps, the server didn't fill up that often at all. I still think it'd be better to modify an idle map and add a separate, large surfing area or something.

I bet you it will.

I want you to go favorite the top 5 surf servers, or find the numbers of how many people join. I can pretty much guarantee you, you will not get 24 people as consistently as every other server we currently run. Except MAYBE badlands EU, but I haven't seen it much. Go look at our server API, and tell me which server is dead enough to replace with a server that will most likely not fill to full.

WE use to have a Surf server but we removed it because it was always dead. It wouldn't be in our best interest to re-add it.
