Why should we attempt to reconfigure an idle map into something it isn't? It's meant for idling, achievements, etc. I am not sure why this is an issue, when you're trying to make a map into something it isn't. If your friends want more competition, then we have 50+ other servers where you can do that, and not have to deal with the "problems" you're dealing with. No one is turning a blind eye to your problems. We are saying these wouldn't be problems if you played the server for what it was designed for.
 
I am playing on here to farm for my stranges, the problem with spawncamping is that it stops people from being able to farm or do anything, as they are confined to spawn. When I can't get to the AFK slide, die at the bottom, or can't access the main exits to the spawn rooms, how am I able to play on that server for the reason it was designed when I want to?

Well I also play on the map, the one he's talking about is an idle map. It also has a skybox with an invisible path that gives you access to both spawns. So yes, in reply to your earlier comment, other players can get into your spawn and they can kill you as soon as you spawn so you cannot build uber. Both spawns also have a direct line of sight to one another so sentries, snipers, pyros, and demoman spam with pills or stickies is a very common occurrence. While I understand that it is not a competitive map, it is still a very problematic occurrence that takes away from the sever. Many including my self have been forced to either stop playing on this sever or try to RTD(roll the dice) to get god mode to try to stop the madness. I feel that this should not be an issue, they can camp anywhere else on the map, but not directly inside of spawn.

My ultimate reason for becoming an admin was so I could join idle and turn on buddha to escape those wicked nasty spawncampers.

You have to play the long con to get maximum results my friends.
 
Spawn camping is extremely easy to counter

I've been playing on Skial for years and I've not once ran across a spawn camp I couldn't single handedly break with the right class

If this is all about the idle map then we care even less about spawn camping there to be blunt.

Idle is a mess around server with RTD, donator perks that give donators increase speed and the /gimmie weapon system. Game play balance is the least of our concern when it comes to idle considering its just a idle/mess around server.
 
@Cyril Does the !friendly command not work on idle? It was implemented on non-competetive servers for the reasons you mentioned. You will turn invincible, but at the cost of being unable to use your own weapons. However you will be able to leave spawn.

Part of the reason he plays on idle is to farm his stranges so this wouldn't work.

The issue is that if we fix spawn camping, there might be an uproar of people who miss it, one thing you need to do, especially if you intend to change a server's playstyle is get A LOT of people to vouch.

If you want a rule to be added make a suggestion in the proper section and if you get a lot of support it may be considered.

Unless you've been trapped in spawn by 6 engies with sentries, soldiers with buff banner, sticky spamming demo men and phlog pyros, you will not understand the frustration I and others feel. Just because everyone isn't as vocal about it, doesn't mean its an issue to be brushed off. But if you ever do want to check out what I and some others are talking about, here is the sever ip in particular 104.153.105.93:27015 , but if you don't then I will leave it at that and we can agree to disagree.

There is actually a way to exit the spawn, that is to drop off the ramp where idlers go (on the lane that deals damage), and when you are on that lane, there is a secret invisible spot on the backside wall, right next to the hole where all the idlers come from, that you can jump on and get on the map. It is hard to explain in text form but let me assure you that there is a possibility to leave spawn when you know this detail ;)

The point I'm trying to make is we've never been too concerned about gameplay balance issues on trade and idle since the point of the server isn't revolved around serious balanced gameplay. We even allow people to put teleporters into their own spawn to let spies in on trade and idle

I think twice now there was also two versions of idle that had better spawns that were harder to spawn camp but people complained about the map and it was reverted back to the original

And I play on idle from time to time. I've seen a lot of spawn camping going on and I've never once been incapable of breaking it by myself, even when spawn is full of phlog pyros and level 3 sentries.
