Skial DJ? (Tech help)

Well, why not? I think the skial trade server could use a DJ to lighten it up. The only problem is, transmitting sound without holding my microphone towards the speakers. Is it possible to transmit sound in-game without having to do that? Any help is appreciated.
 
Maybe, use input direct from soundcard? trouble is you would have to silence the game or get residual feedback.
Dunno if you can do this through cfg settings.
 
Its a trade server. its meant to be a Cold big empty space so people can trade Virtual items when they could do something else.

I dont like to very much either, But its alot better than having someone play unwanted music while trading.
Thats just trying to flood us with more Reports, Also, This should have been in the "Suggestion" section of the forums.

You're both correct. What we need is a service that doesn't force requests and plays a better set.
 
Or people could just listen to music using windows media player or whatever they use, then they can choose their own music.

No offense, but I'm sure most people think other people's choice in music kinda sucks.

Honestly, it's very unlikely that you'll find any music everybody in the server will listen to. It'll only result in a bunch of pissed off players and somebody will end up banned over it.

I agree that music taste isn't compulsary amongst everyone in the server. That will always be the case. Perhaps you could vote for genres of music using !votemenu or something.

I think it would be nice to have something other than rock and dubstep play. My only complaint is that there isn't a wide variety. Trying to please everyone is foolish.

I saw this interview where this guy explained how we, as humans, are programmed to enjoy repetition. However, what we enjoy more than repetition is the slight surprise when we become accustomed to things. I think that the radio would be great if it would offer a good surprise now and again. It would help us not only appreciate the new music, but also sharpen are skills are our brains would become more alert. The new rhythms would get our mojo working, so to speak.

So in summation: Don't please everyone, surprise everyone.
 
maybe there could be a couple stations in !radioiono wouldnt be that hard to include other options

Agreed. Maybe some smooth jazz would do the trick. :confused:

I think the tide quickly turned against some just playing music through their computer. No one likes someone pumping crappy quality music through the ingame voice. If it's trade, just mute the game and PLAY YOUR OWN MUSIC. If you don't have a library, startup pandora or spotify and play some tracks. Skial shouldn't have to facilitate something like this.
 
Official Admin Stance: Voice communication on a trade server is not to be interrupted with mic spam since voice communication is used for the trades. Playing music over the mic is mic spam and considered a bannable offense.

First of all what you're suggesting is legalized mic spam.........Mic spam is against our server rules ESPECIALLY ON A TRADE SERVER WHERE PEOPLE ARE TRYING TO USE VOICE CHAT TO TRADE...........
Second of all yes you're right the !radio sucks 99 songs out of 100, but it's voluntary.
Third of all this is the stupidest thread I've ever seen on our forums and believe me I've seen a few.
