Sounds to me like someone got what they had coming, even if they were harassing a sniper on.. 2fort.

So to clean up some of the thoughts published. I was not in the server at the time of the ban. I was not the the one who was banned. I was only linked to the ban request. After taking sometime and looking at the rules, I frankly disagreed with the ban, and thus my post and the video. As I wasn't the one who was banned, I thought it to be inappropriate for me to make the unban request.

Now, the "No cussing" rule. When I started playing TF2 I played on a gaming group called lotusclan. After awhile I soon realized that due to all the cussing I wasn't having fun, and rather was becoming angry and aggressive. So, I felt when I made my servers that I would have a "No Flaming" rule. However, that was slowly pushed down to "No cussing" by players and admins. At this point, it is why many people play on my network, Gaming-Servers.net (G-S.N). You are more then welcome to criticize it, as I have criticized yours. However, my aim was to have a fun gaming environment, and it seems to work for us at least.

Why did I make the thread on my network? One, I was asked not to go and make a comment in the actual ban request by the player who was banned, and as such I didn't, but I did feel like discussing it still, and thus posted it on my network.

Now as an admin on my gaming network I know how people think at times. For the demo that was posted it was short. Most demos are 5 to 10 minutes. His was maybe a minute or two. Now I also know most players don't just go someplace to stand in front of a sniper. It usually happens when the player is flaming or bring attention to themselves and the player(s) feel like revolting against said player. My GUESS is that the scout(s) did it once before, and thus the starting of the recording. However, the scout(s) was probably going up there due to something Devin did or said.

In the end, I mean no offense to Skial, but I do feel like the ban was wrong, and thus the post and video.

Edit2: Okay thoughts collected...

Honestly the only thing I have issues with is that as an admin of another server group, you feel the need to disparage another server group. That's one of my pet peeves.

Server groups/admins of server groups that make it a mantra or habit of consistently badmouthing other servers especially ones that are larger than theirs make me not want to go there. It makes you look petty and worried more about someone else's house instead of your own.

The best way to become a successful server group is to act professional, and worry about your OWN servers and not others. At least when its coming from an official representative of another community.

What I find odd about this is that despite you and your friend disagreeing with the context of the rules, he has yet to make an appeal on the ban appeals and contest it despite having some pretty solid evidence (demo).

You know maybe if we banned cursing, our numbers would increase?
Tracking 3,126,480 players with 542,171,820 kills and 35,484,460 headshots (6.54%) on 79 servers - Regular
Tracking 53,567 players with 25,414,653 kills and 1,471,608 headshots (5.79%) on 1 servers - Idle

If Devin stopped to make a demo, I figured it was an ongoing problem. Why would he randomly make a demo and randomly capture griefers?

if you play in 2fort with him you will notice that he thinks anything is a bannable offence and is constantly patrolling the server and recording demos of ppl griefing but a lot of the time they do it once or for a very low amount of time he is a 2 fort dictator that feels the need to constantly tell people how to play and how to behave in the server being all around annoying which in turn makes people grief him notice how a lot of his demos and reports are about people griefing him not other people

I'm quite comfortable with mine, and actually I don't usually monitor other gaming networks. Instead I was linked it, and thus posted my thoughts. In all actuality I worry too much about my own, and probably should get out more often.

Yes for here that doesn't make sense, but for what I run it actually does make sense.

  • 228,222 players and 15,095 clans ranked in 7 games on 18 servers with 5,125,245 kills. For ~8 months.

Numbers doesn't make the rule make any more sense, this game is rated mature in most countries. I mean, when you blow people up you can see fucking intestines coming from the body, doesn't that disturb you more than a few meanie moanie words?

Meanwhile, in related, Skoal.

Anyways, I usually do /kick and then /ban if they come back and do it again. No reason to just up your ban count so there's a record of it. We don't uphold the rules for results, we uphold them to make the servers better.

Stuff
Mun

Pyro says "mother fucker"

Soldier says "bitch" , "bastard"

Scout says "dumbass"

Spy says "merde" which is the French word for "shit"

Engie says "damn"

Sniper says "wanker" which is a highly offensive word to some Europeans / Australians

Wait, why the fuck would you have a no cursing rule again when the characters fucking curse?

I think it's perfectly fine if you disagree with the call on he ban. It's your prerogative; However, making a Youtube video with the title of "Skial: being stupid" sounds a bit childish. Especially since you weren't there, weren't one of the parties involved in the ban and you took the word of some kid who may or may not be giving you the whole story from that day. It's like a kid coming home and telling their parents they were bullied and the parents going off on the other kid's parents without knowing what was all involved. If you wanted to inquire about ban policies then the adult thing to do would have been to pm Bottiger and talk about it server admin to server admin or just make a post in Ban Appeals.

Good day Sir and good luck with your Servers. :)
