I honestly don't see the reason against it as long as you try to condense most of it into one thread dedicated to same-sexiness stuff. Because your earlier argument does hold though if there were several different popular furry threads that kept popping up in Recent Threads rather than one generic heresomefurryshit thread. :B
As much as I think the furry fandom are mainly interested in the sexual aspect of it all, I do see a benefit to the planet from their 'obsessions'.

You seem to think that do to the anthropomorphic characteristics assigned to animals by furries(what you should have used instead of anthropomorphisation,nominative form of anthropomorphic i.e. not a word), they'll treat animals the same as they do other furries.
So by that assumption, do furries want to have sex with real animals?

Well to answer you, probably a bunch do, but that's mainly because those people were into beast porn anyways and turned to anthropomorphic representations of animals instead of actual animals because it's less weird that way, but is that to say that anyone who's into furry is into beast porn? You asked if people who give anthropomorphic features to animals were into beast porn because of it, I answered that as a no, but those who are into furry that are also into beast porn turned to furry as it is more socially acceptable than banging animals. Bronies like a show about ponies and sometimes sexualize those same ponies, not really furry and not really beast porn since they aren't realistic animals, but those fetishes/fandoms have an overlap in areas since they all involve animals as the main feature.
That's not to say all members of any of those fandoms are into the others, you can be a brony and not fantasize about animal dongs just as you can be a furry and not like MLP. I like milk and cheese but I hate yogurt, I can like dairy products without liking all dairy related products, see what I mean?

And no, I think that as a social group, it will become more acceptable to treat animals with greater empathy based on identifying shared characteristics.
Some may take it to far, and see animals as an object for their sexual outlet, but then again, I remember reading a report which stated that 1/10 americans admitted to having sexual contact with an animal at some point in their lives.
