I use my Asus EEE Pad Transformer and I love it, I would recommend it for work since it's got its own keyboard for an extra 150$.

The new one coming out in 2012 is going to have a Quad Core Tegra processor, I would recommend that if it comes out sooner as a gift.

My laptop (I use it for gaming, as well) can last, like, 7 and a half hours on stealth mode with the non-gaming graphics card.

On a tablet you can watch movies or play games 8.5 hours straight on the same battery.
