So much whine for some meaningless insults. If someone is insulting, stop crying and just ignore it. You're on the god damn motherfucking internet.
However I do agree that an admin should not "harass" another player because the admins have to set the good example.

putting a rule in for trash talking on a rated m game is sure going to upset some people, and possibly cause some to leave
Only people who would leave over this are the bullies who don't even come to the servers to play in the first place. I think more people leave now because of them than if we enforced this rule.

i don't think bullies specifically come to servers to just trash talk, "harassing" or trash talking a lot stems from a wholly different issue; venting frustration like that comes from being confronted with something that sparks up butthurt, rather than people going out of their way to make someone else's stay on the server to be unpleasant.

i don't think the rule is a good idea though, you already have the means to shut someone up; a rule like that can unravel in many negative ways, it just doesn't seem to me the rule would do more good than harm.

Hey guys, communication is important during a team based game. If someone is trash talking, and everyone is expected to mute him, he is still playing yet not able to communicate back. I believe it is important to enforce, or atleast have these rules but seldom enforce them, as a deterrent so that people could stop trash talking, yet play the game like it was meant to be played. You could simply say "Hey bro, shut up or you're banned" and he would get the message while still being able to play AND communicate. If we just mute him, we would be getting rid of his communication, a central pillar in the game

We can't enforce people to communicate for teamplay, that would most definitely be totalitarian.

Uh, we wouldn't be forcing people to be communicating for team play, we would just be eliminating trash talking for certain individuals so that team play could still be done, whether they want to or not
