Castill

Somewhat Threatening Sniper
Well today I was an engie on vsh skial us I was doing a castill where I'm engi make a sentry and hide.(Its so effective.) Well I was the last guy left and hale didn't know where I was so he tried to take down my sentry. And I got 5k damage in the process. He gave up and started to look for me. I had a teleporter set up so I could quickly rebuild , I already had a level 2 sentry when someone said that I'm at red spawn. Found me and killed me imediately. Now I would like to say that because that person was being a troll he told him where I was multiple times that one person robbed me of the chance to do more damage. Now Ghosting is a harm to people in hale. What if the person is doing something when a troll just revveals your position. My goal of telling you this is to make ghosting mutable. Why here are two reasons.

People ghost when they see the round is getting dragged out that is not the case here.Hale can cover large areas of distances really quickly using his supper jump. So he has the ability to find anyone easy. Now people who actually do the objective are the people who carry the team. Most people dont even do 1000 points of damage so the others have to get 7000 8000 9000 and above to kill hale. Its not fair to say that when you die the round should be over. That was the case with me I was the last person and some idiot got angry that he was raged kill. Which is redundant and told hale where I was just so he could play again. The round had less than 3 minuites left and he couldn't wait. Its a lack of paitience which is the problem and ghosting is the answer which is unfair for the player who is alive.

People who ghost are hypocrits. The person who ghosted my location got angry exactly the next round after he was hiding the entire time with 0 damage. Now Ghosting is a major issue that people abuse and then think that they have ghosting immunity so they throw a hissy fit when other players reveal their location. The point of vsh is to kill hale. How can you do that when people say where you are when you're last. Whats the point of there giving the last person crits when they don't even have an oppertunity to use them as some asshole decides that the round should be over and tales hale where you are .

The solution to this problem is making it mutable just plain and simple.

Now I belive these points are valid and that ghosting should be removed. Thank you for taking the time to read this long essay.

I agree and disagree with some of your points Castill. I agree that ghosting a person who is actually actively doing damage to hale should be a punishable offense. It is honestly really annoying when a person is telling hale your location when you are dealing damage to him. Obviously, the hale would target the person being ghosted. Or another example is when you escape hale after he has been only chasing you and then someone on spectator blurts out where you are to hale. This kind of ghosting in this instance is basically griefing and ruins all the fun in VSH.

However I disagree that ghosting is completely bad in VSH. Ghosting can help make a round end faster when people are just dragging it out with no chance of winning. An example of this I constantly see in VSH is the cloak and dagger spy. During pre-round, there is at least one person who goes cloak and dagger spy and they drag out the round because they are cloaked the entire time. In my opinion, this is where ghosting is acceptable. Another instance where I think ghosting is useful is when there is only one person left alive and hale has no clue where he is. So many people get bored to death just watching hale try to hunt down the last player.

In the end, I'm pretty neutral on this suggestion. What I want is a solution that solves the issue Castill presented with ghosting while at the same time allowing ghosting to make rounds go by faster that otherwise would take forever.

It already is against the rules...

I think there is even an option in the votemenu for it.

Ghosting is allowed in VSH.

News to me. I thought it was safe to assume that it was banned because locations can be important at the end in hale. Apologies.

The control point is there to flush people out in situations like this, correct? I don't play hale often.

We've removed the ghosting law from VSH so that trolls don't hide. Most of the maps we have are also huge and multi-platformed.
Any box spy troll is going to drink a fountain of tears and burn up 10 minutes if we remove the law.

Sorry about your round though. Just tell people to shut up. Works for me.
-1, sorry man.

I'm confused though, can't Hale or the last player just go to the control point if he can't find the last guy?

He can, and people's reactions to Hale capping are funny as fuck. So I encourage it!

A lot of hales refuse to do this because people bitch about capping in VSH.

Until hales stop caring about 12 year olds calling them a 'cap noob' most hales won't cap even if its to flush people out of hiding.

I completely understand where you're coming from, but there's nothing more boring than watching a Hale run around a map for the rest of the round trying to find someone who is hiding.

And as I stated above here, most people playing hale refuse to cap because idiots relentlessly bitch about it which discourages them from capping. This isn't just a "their problem" situation, this is a problem for everyone because we have to watch a hale running around a map for most of the round trying to find one person.

Plus if there's one person left when Hale has more than 3k HP they're royally fucked.

If someone is delaying the new round simply by hiding in a corner not doing anything, than I don't see why someone can't point them out.

However if someone dies and starts pointing out everyone on his team, that is something we can silence for. And i think we already do silence for that.

I completely agree with the argument you're making but I feel like you're missing the main point Castill is trying to make. Say you're a spy Meowcenary and there is a guy ghosting you just to a be a troll. You're one of the ten people left in the round. You're about to get a backstab but then that one guy ghosting you tells hale that you're right behind him and he turns around and kills you. And the guy ghosts your location to hale every round after he dies. Could you not punish the guy for doing that or is it allowed? While its not the same thing as Castill's situation, It was a similar situation Castill was in Meow. Castill wasn't the last person left during the round he was in. Not only that he was actively doing damage to hale. Hale was just targetting him and Castill got away.
