Recommend me some books

With my laptop still collecting dust in my room because the piece of trash won't start up I've started reading books.

Do you have any books recommended? So far in 6 days of time I have read:
-Down and out in London and Paris (George Orwell)
-Animal Farm (George Orwell)
-1984 (George Orwell)
-Brave New World (Aldous Huxley)
-John Dies At The End (David Wong)

Books I want to read
-Lord of the Flies
-Fahrenheit 451
-Catcher in the Rye (currently have it at home)

I like books about politics with topics like totalitarism, drugs, etc.

Hell, Harry Potter movies went way downhill after Prisoner of Azkaban.

I'm always scared when it comes to books that have been turned in a movie, one thing is that I already know what will happen (even if a book is much greater detail, I still know the basic storyline)
Which is actually the case of Golden Compass and all the Harry Potter books.
I will look into this Percy Jackson thing
