To be honest I'm unsure of why it was ever removed but I liked the opportunity to rinse some credits out of people.

Betting in Zombie Escape made the game mode a whole lot of fun. The bets would make it a little more competitive & it would allow for the Human team to do their best
to actually y'know... not die. This mechanic was best to use on more challenging yet beatable maps such as Santassination & Mako. There was also a lot less griefing in exchange for more ZMainers to get credits on Zombie team.

Though for Deathrun I'm unsure how good this idea will be with there being no challenging maps beside PQ(, Ramadan & Diddy minigames) for most of Skial on rotation. The lack of obstacles resulting in less player death means more get to the end to which Hale will just end up getting stomped in most cases. If more difficult maps like PQ end up staying or getting re-added I could see betting being a nice return.

It just feels like a nice way to (POSSIBLY) earn more credits since it doesn't seem that you can buy credits with keys anymore. Again I am unaware of why betting was removed so please don't beat me like I just slightly burnt the meatloaf.

Would love to see it come back though, in DR, the AFK timer must be active for Hale again otherwise people are just going to farm credits a lot more efficiently (as if anyone gives a fuck).

Just don't get addicted, it's so simple!
 
Betting was removed because it didn't seem to attract many players and if there was a server crash or the network going down, the credits were not refunded.

I was tired of having to deal with random people every month saying that they lost credits betting.

I do not have time to rewrite the system to make it completely robust.

Oh yeah, that is quite unfortunate for all those players that lost out on those 1000 credit bets!!
